50 years ago to the minute-Enterprise delivered!

I said it was cute. I just hate dumb false claims like "to the minute".
Then you must be constantly knashing your teeth while watching television.

(LOL)
I think they simply meant that they must have been there during that particular minute because of the shadows.
They were there for a couple of hours in total. They didn't state that they KNEW when the actual minute was.

It's all just great fun and I certainly appreciate them going to all that trouble to give us something to look at and talk about. :)

LLAP

I think it's called "fun". Sorry I don't have a source for that...
This is one of the saddest things I've ever read on the Internet.

Are you okay? Would you like a hug?

I started this thread and then suddenly realized something.

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is that location, and whom were they delivering the model to back in 64?

Thanks!

That's outside Richard Datin's shop, and they were getting ready to load up for delivery to the Howard Anderson company for filming.

Holy cow!

That's kinda awesome

Guy in the middle coulda tried a little harder with his shirt though :cardie:

Very fun nonetheless!! Kudos :techman:

Yeah, the guy in the middle didn't seem to get the memo about matching the clothing, but perhaps he tried to find that mustard-colored striped shirt and (hopefully) couldn't...

I don't know how to do it myself, but it would be fun to make it a "mouse roll over" comparison like this site from my hometown:

Naturally it's great fun seeing photos of my hometown taken from exactly the same angle but many years apart, seeing what buildings were/are still standing with the same windows, doors, etc.

A real eye-opener in the Enterprise photo is the state of that pavement! It doesn't look like that street's been repaved in 50 years (although it seems to be happening now). Unfortunately there are way too many streets like that in California...

The jury is instructed to disregard the testimony "to the minute". Statement to be struck from the record.

^My attempt to remove all "dumb false claims" from the Internet.

Thanks guys.
Stumbled on this equally great pic over at the RPF.
Guess it is a picture of the shop you guys mentioned.

A) Don't get personal. Be civil, please.

B) Pictures. TOO LARGE. Resize them. Don't make me start cracking down hard on this.

Those pics are brilliant, and what work you did on the model, mindblowing.

I wonder how much of the road and pavement are still there from 50 years ago in the original pic.
