How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I remember reading this while watching the cartoon when I was a kid.

2.If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be?

I'm assuming this has to be some sort of family-style sitcom (Full House, Family matters, etc) since there really isn't a “home” in something like “Firefly.” I would have to say “Wonder Years.” I always loved that show and there was always something very real about it.

3.What's the longest you've gone without sleep?

Solid 48 hours over exam week once. I remember being in a daze while taking my Japanese exam (final exam of the semester at 7 in the morning) having seen the sunrise for the second day in a row without so much as a nap. I proceeded to my dorm and slept until late evening... took me awhile to get back on schedule after that.

4.What's your favorite Barry Manilow song?

Kermit, of course. We 're talking about the most well-intentioned, benevolent little frog in the entire world who wants to do nothing more than “make millions of people happy.” :)

High school. Specifically I was in choir-- they still had us move from period to period watching the TV the entire time. I remember football practice was canceled and my cousin Dominic drove me home after school.

Freshman year I went to a high school dance, started to feel sick, and ended up at the hospital with flu and dehydration. I was bed-ridden for about a week.

Lifting weights-- though recently I've really enjoyed playing with my cousins when I'm in Canton.

Pretty sure I had a party at my house. I remember my friend Becky and some of her friends being there.

As much as I love the Grinch and while Scrambled Eggs Super and On Beyond Zebra are childhood favorites, I have to go with the simplicity and sheer hilarity of Hop On Pop.

2.If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be?

Again, assuming we're not counting outer space shows and stuff, I'd choose the house from The Brady Bunch. Nice and open, and I love that staircase.

3.What's the longest you've gone without sleep?

Somewhere between 36 and 48 hours during finals week, spring semester of my freshman year. Was aided by some caffeine-laced chewing gum. Went nuts and chased a girl around with a broom. :wtf:

"Can't Smile Without You." Especially when it was 'covered' in Hellboy II by Ron Perlman and Doug Jones. ;)

I met my parents halfway between my place and their place, and then drove my brother home; he'd been visiting them when his car gave up the ghost, but he still had to get back for work. Round trip of around 250 miles or so.

11.What's the best bargain you've ever found at a garage sale or thrift store?

A lot of old hardback books still in good shape, and with their dust jackets. Not that I think they'd fetch anything, but I like them for the sentimental value. (ones I'm personally proud of are Woodward & Bernstein's All the President's Men and The Final Days;The Godfather; and Herman Wouk's The Winds of War and War and Remembrance)

12.Where were you on September 11, 2001?

Scene Design, during my senior year of college. It was a 10:00 class and I'd overslept, so I missed the live news coverage of the planes hitting the World Trade Center; I was probably frantically running to class as the south tower collapsed. I found out while waiting for a meeting about the fall play to begin.

Fox in Socks. I remember when I was a kid getting an immense kick out of my dad reading it to me and tripping over the tongue twisters. I always wondered what a tweedle-beetle was, and why they were battling in tweedle-battle bottles on poodles eating noodles.

2.If you could live in any home on a television series, what would it be?

I think it would be fun to live in S.A.R.A.H., the smart house on the show Eureka.

3.What's the longest you've gone without sleep?

23 hours, the night of my high school graduation. (There was an all-night after graduation party hosted by the school. It was kind of fun, but I found that I don’t do well on lack of sleep. It makes me irritable and headachy.)

I was having foot surgery. I was in the Air Force ROTC at the time, and when I got home from surgery, I got a call from my CO telling me that until further notice, we weren’t to wear our uniforms unless we were on base. (So we wouldn’t be a target.) It was kind of scary.

Redwood.

“My Grandfather’s Son”, the autobiography of Clarence Thomas.

Paid 50 cents for a copy of the White Album by the Beatles, knew it was a reissue. Got it home, took it out of the cover (no shrinkwrap) and it was on white vinyl. It is worth about $40 bucks or so.

Driving into the K-mart parking lot when I heard it on the radio. I was going in to start orientation as it was my first day on the job.

Offutt Airforce Base has an airshow every year. My parents' house is in the flight pattern- about 35 miles away. Last summer three or four Stealth Bombers were going over (we were out on the deck) and way up higher (so it appeared) than the Stealth Bombers was another sort of aircraft, kind of egg shaped, white, and it appeared to have very narrow stubby wings. I would love to know what it was.

Yes. I onetime almost got stuck on the steel shelving in Kmart while stocking years ago. I was standing up on top of the steel where the excess papertowels and such are stacked and nearly couldn't make myself get down.

No. I would consider square dancing if it came back in popularity. About 25 years ago it was popular in this area and my parents went weekly. My older brother met his wife square dancing, oddly enough.

Custody battle. I was a good father when together or seperated, then one day I just got a text telling me I wasn't seeing her any more. I can theorise and speculate, get a good idea why, but when asked the questions always been dodged or ignored.

It'd ether be when I did some damage to my neck and couldn't get out of bed, or if not physically then one of the low points. Depression used to take me to really weird places mentally, though I can deal with it a lot better these days and just make bad jokes non stop.

Bench press. It always feels like the thing I'm getting the most from, though I love a lot of work I do in the gym - even if I hate bicep work.

20.Describe something that's happened to you for which you have no explanation.
I seem to sense and experience the world VERY differently from everyone around me. It causes quite a few barriers to effective communication. People tend to respond with hostility (quite illogically in my mind) if I try to discuss it with them, so that's not much help. I know and understand how I relate to my surroundings, and over the years I've come to understand how other people experience it differently, but I still have no explanation. Note that I'm, not talking about differences in opinion or outlook or whathaveyou, I mean differences in sensory input, the way my body and mind process things and interact with my surroundings.

The Cliffs of Bandiagara.

I might have skipped it, which was bad of me. I have a problem lately with forgetting to eat, and people keep having to remind me.

Wow, a lot of people have never tried guacamole. It's the best thing to put on tortilla chips. It's super easy to make, too.

Amazing guacamole a la Vulcan Princess:
Take 1 avocado, peel, and mash. Add 1 tsp (approx. I never measure) lemon or lime juice, and 1/4 cup (again, approx.) mild salsa. Mix and serve with tortilla chips or on burritos, enchiladas, etc. :bolian:

For something a little more exciting use three avocados, two cloves of garlic, two Roma tomatoes, a red onion, one green chile & one jalapeño, a solid pinch of sea salt, some lime zest, and then the whole lime's worth of juice, a half a table spoon of sour cream, and about 2/3 of a shot glass of tequila.

Now that's guacamole. :bolian:
