Day 19 –Scorpion 1

Holy crap! That was awesome! This voyager show is really kicking it into high gear. This episode is full of great action and unbelievable tension and Borg! The scene with the stack of Borg bodies is truly creepy. Most importantly Kes is used perfectly in this episode showing what her true potential on the show could have been. Shame on the writers for under using her and then cutting her from the series! I hope I am actually in an alternative universe and Harry Kim dies instead.

I can’t wait until tomorrow to watch 4x01 Scorpion 2.

Day 20 –Scorpion 2

Wow, a second half which does not have major plot holes or a significant drop in quality. Jerri Ryan is good as a borg. She has good command on camera and this episode is full of excitement. Good job Star Trek Voyager for delivering some quality!

Day 21 –The Gift

The gift-is this referring to Jerri Ryan as a gift to adolescent males who watch the show? In seriousness, she is a good addition to the show. She is a compelling character, decent actress and, yes, is good looking. My issue here is not her addition. It is the choice of subtraction. Cut some other dead meat from the show instead of Kes as there is a whole group of wooden and laconic actors to choose from. Also the idea of Kes somehow self-destructing was stupid and really had not explanation behind it. If you are going to kill off a character please do it in style with some drama. The 7 of 9 part of this episode was interesting. The rest was infuriating and dumb.

I don't think the idea was that Kes self-destructed, but that she ascended to a higher plane of existence. Seriously, this is the first time I've ever heard the theory that she self destructed. And the "gift" was supposed to be that she pushed them almost 10,000 light years closer to home with her transformation.

I've always thought that the Caretaker was doing something to supress their powers. We saw evidence of this in the Ocampans that left him in Cold Fire, and with Kes developing more powers once she was away from the Caretaker. Yes I think that her contact with 8472 sped things up a little but I think she was heading that way anyway

Okay, I guess she didn't die but my point is that is was lame way to get rid of her. And if she ascended to this higher plane and can help Voyager why not push them all the way home?

I think it was actually a lovely send off for her. She didn't die which leaves options open, and she helped Voyager

Day 22 –Year of Hell 1

Is that the Dad from That 70s Show?

Well he just made a whole civilization cease to exist. This was an incredible episode. I love the concept of jumping from day to day over a years period. This episode is filled with Voyager getting the crap beat out of it and still somehow holding together. I can’t believe I have decided to limit myself to one episode a day. I am anxiously waiting to get to the conclusion tomorrow.

Well he just made a whole civilization cease to exist. This was an incredible episode. I love the concept of jumping from day to day over a years period. This episode is filled with Voyager getting the crap beat out of it and still somehow holding together. I can’t believe I have decided to limit myself to one episode a day. I am anxiously waiting to get to the conclusion tomorrow.

Day 23 –Year of Hell 2

That was a fantastic two parter! Even Harry Kim was compelling to watch. The only issue I have with this episode is at the end there are absolutely no consequences to Voyager or the people. Basically all the incredible action and drama that happened never actually happened!

There were so many great ideas and plot points in this two parter it is a shame they made this just a two part episode. I would have LOVED a whole season like this and not have everything undone in the end. For example, when Tuvok goes blind. That would have been a great story to carry through a season or two. There seem to be a lot of Voyager episodes that never happened or are holodecks.
And I completely disagree. This would have worked long term and made them different than the other Star Trek series.

There are a handful of holodeck episodes, probably about the same as TNG had. And Year of Hell is the only episode that never happened.

Day 24 – Message in a Bottle

I don’t know……Andy Dick on Star Trek?

This didn’t really work for me. I didn’t think the doctor and Andy Dick had very good chemistry together. It really felt like they were trying too hard. Also the scene where 7of9 shocks the alien and Janeway does nothing seems kinds lame. Overall this was not for me.

Tomorrow I will be watching 4x15 Hunters.

Day 25 – Hunters

Ok.....did Voyager just destroy a 100 000 year old piece of technology so they could read their letters from home? That's a little bit selfish.

Besides the fact Janeway is going around wrecking other species property and showing no remorse I thought this was a good episode. Nice to see some people get info from home and advance their character development. Also this new giant species (Hirogen?) is cool and this episode had some nice continuity with Message in a Bottle. I really enjoyed this episode.

Day 25 – Hunters

Nice to see some people get info from home and advance their character development. Also this new giant species (Hirogen?) is cool and this episode had some nice continuity with Message in a Bottle. I really enjoyed this episode.

That's not what happened at all. They didn't destroy the technology just to read their letters. They didn't intend to destry the technology at all.
