Day 1 - Caretaker 1

This is my first time watching Voyager. Overall pretty good start to the series. My impression from this episode are:
-Great opening credits. Love the theme song.
-Ensign Kim is a bit wooden and laconic.
-Why does Chekotay have a Mike Tyson Tattoo?

It's[the tat] inspired by New Zealand native groups. As for backstory reasons, you'll find out in episode Tattoo in season 2.

It looks like you're missing a lot. Most of season 2 not that it's a biggie but you may want to see the traitor get his come up-ins.
Season 3 is fluff and entertainment. I think you've selected the best ones.

Lynx, our resident #1 one fan of Kes, will vomit but I'd say you need "the Gift" which comes after Scorpion.
Season 4 Hunters -which introduces a species in an arc and includes (uh..oh wait that'd be a spoiler)

5th season you'll need Night. They make a leap in their journey and Janeway grapples with her regret to strand them. Plus you don't want to miss the species who looks like a stool. (I say Almond Joy but I'm outnumbered by the Voy cast)

It's Unimatrix Zero, btw.

Where is Workforce? (all 2 parters rock)
You need to add Homestead to your list. A character leaves the ship and is assigned a roll that will resume when Voy gets home.

Ok, so possible additions to the list are: gift, hunters, night, workfore 1&2 and Homestead.

Don't have time to watch all 7 seasons. Just trying to watch the best ones.
Then you give yourself more than 50 days.

You're missing a story arc in season 2 (one of the few that Voyager had, it's like the B story in episodes about other things). I can't recall exactly which episode it starts with, maybe Meld and ends with Investigations.

You'll miss the series wide Tom/B'Elanna arc but unless you are a shipper it's not that big a deal. You'll just notice at some point that hey, they're together and then 'they are married' and then they are going to have a kid. It will all happen magically if you skip all that.

Yes, some important episodes for them are:

Faces
Blood Fever
Day of Honor
Drive
Lineage

I have heard bad things about season 2 so I figured I would skip most of it and watch more of the later episodes instead.

And do not miss "The Threshold". Most important episode
Ok,adding to the list of additions to the list are:

Gift
Hunters
Night,
Workforce 1&2
Homestead.

Also, I am considering getting drunk and watching Threshold.

Day 2 - Caretaker Part 2
Ok, so my overall review of the pilot was it was good. Not great. Not terrible. It managed to introduce most of the characters and was fairly interesting. Harry Kim may be the worst actor ever in a Star Trek series but at least there are no Jar Jar Binks equivalents.

My only real problem with the pilot is the scene where Janeway decides not to go home in order to save the pointy eared people. I mean, come on! What a blunder. Did she not think that maybe the whole crew could go home and one person stay behind to blow up the Caretaker? 1 person stranded in the Delta quadrant seems a little more logical than 150. Just saying.

Anyway tomorrow on day 3 I will watch 1x07 Eye of the Needle.

Day 3 - Eye of the Needle

Ok, not a bad episode. I liked the chemistry between the doctor and pointy eared girl (Kes?). Also I liked Janeway in the episode and appreciated the difference in her leadership compared to other Star Trek captains. The collapsing wormhole idea was cool and the plot twist about 20 years in the past surprised me. Overall, I would say a worth watching episode. Harry Kim still drives me nuts. In one scene in the conference room it looked like he was trying to remember lines while the Klingon girl was talking. That made me laugh.

What did everyone else think?

Tommorow (Day 4) I will be watching 1x10 Prime Factors.

Garrett Wang (Kim) was a low resume actor. fresh. so perhaps he was trying to cram for his scene. I didn't pay attention to Kim in that episode to recall.

Uh oh, if you hate Kim, more of him coming up in Prime Factors ;)

Day 4 - Prime Factors (and State of Flux)

Well that was a boring episode. Plus we had half the crew disobeying direct orders with no real repercussions. Also, Harry Kim attempting to act……I don’t think it really belonged on a list of top 50 episodes! I was feeling unsatisfied so I decided to watch 1x11 State of Flux as well. That was a hell of a lot better! Plus the whole Seska twist was awesome. Did not see that coming!

If anyone else is trying to condense the seasons definitely watch State of Flux!

Tommorow (Day 5) I will be watching 2x03 Projections.
