3D interiors in Blender

.. so.. no dual joysticks for the tactical panel? Pew Pew! :)
For the tactical panel, any chance of that dot/shield panel from TWOK?

All looking good sir!

@ashefivekay: Thanks! :)

@Jedman67: :D

@valkyrie013: Haha, no joysticks or hotas here. ;) As for the shield panel, it was a possibility, but the targeting scanner seemed more apt.

Lots of small bits worked on. I've finished the aft section of the helm console, with it's Captain facing buttons (which aren't based on the TUC console) and its forward facing thin blue light thingy (which is there in TUC, as I noticed for the first time this week, after seeing that thing for a thousand times and never noticing it before...).

The ever important fire extinguishers are also now in place; as are the remaining details for the viewscreen area, including the plaque on the right and a space for some TWoK inspired Okudagrams on the left.

A bit more work on the graphics, including the somewhat modified schematic of the Constellation as it was on its NX configuration, before so many add-ons were pasted on the design.

Would love to get a clear view of your mods to the Constellation to be NX-1974, i'm interested in how other people depict the ship. I'm partial to mounting refit Enterprise pylons instead of the clubbed ones Constellation has, figuring Constellation is a more conventional star cruiser design opposite of the highly experimental Excelsior, and accordingly re-used a lot of common parts at the time.

Hmm, any chance of a Heads Up Display type of thing on the view screen, or on that center display?
Just info like, course, speed, ETA to: say Pacifica. where the captain can just look up and see :)
Looks good!

@Bernard Guignard: Thank you :)

@Norsehound: Sure, here's a view of the ship. It's essentially the same as the version we saw on TNG but without the bulky 'addons' or greebles on the hull, and with a navigational deflector on the front of the saucer section. Keep in mind this isn't my version per say but rather my client's. I'm just bringing the bridge to life. :)

@valkyrie013: That makes perfect sense but, keeping it in line with Trek's bridges of the time, I won't be adding any sort of HUD to the viewscreen. :)

I've further modified the viewscreen to be closer in style to the Enterprise-A, while still retaining the dedication plaque and the big computer panel in that area.

Other than that I've been working a lot on the console graphics. I've created some 30 designs here (some based in older Patagonia okudagrams, but still reproduced from scratch). I still got some 15 or so more to go before I'm done with the wall consoles.

I know I'm repeating myself at this point, but wow, your renderings never cease to amaze me, @Rekkert! I'd love to be able to take a walk through your sets, touch every Okudagram button, sit in the captain's chair and marvel at the design of everything. Thanks for keeping us posted on your design process! :techman:

No mouse? Track pad?? for the consoles? :)
i understand, its a commision :) Next one go full Flash Gordan/Captain Proton!
Looks great!

No seatbelts? Those fire extinguishers aught to come in handy since the whole bridge explodes when the captain doesn't get his coffee

@Michael: Hahaha, thank you! I'm tempted to take a walk though them as well and make it all interactive, but well, sadly we know what could happen if I showcase that.

@valkyrie013: Don't forget the transparent glass panels, and go full JJ bridge. ;)

@Jedman67: Seat belts? Where we're going we don't need seat belts...

I've been adding some more okudagrams (including the one for the side viewscreen graphic, which is intended to be an updated version of the column left of the viewscreen on the TWoK bridge).
But mainly I've been working on the Captain's chair, which is based on the TUC design but has several unique modifications. These include a backrest which becomes smaller at the top, and a split back panel to fit in better with the standard console chairs.

I'm right there with you!

Weird but I can't get the pictures to work. Could be the firewall at the office, but if you have a flickr link or something that would be appreciated.

And as long as the interactive stuff is clearly limited to your own personal use and is not included in the "retail" version, you're probably alright. I mean you're technically infringing just making these builds as for sale?
But yeah, better to play it safe. :(

Ugh, I don't know what the hell Deviant Art is doing. They were acquired by Wix last year, and apparently only now are changing their hosting to reflect that, including changing how the Stash works, now direct links to images on the Stash (that is, not published on Deviant Art directly) only work for a period of time...

I'll be looking into it, but for now you can see the images following these links: 1 2 3 (you can still access the full size images by clicking on them or opening them in another tab)

Imgur now seems to be the only one that doesn't do inline posting restrictions anymore. All the rest suck ass these days.

The same thing happened to the image links there, the direct link generated was timed...

Anyway, stuck with links for the time being, sorry everyone :( I've sent them a support ticket, if they don't reply or this is by design (as I suspect) I guess I'll have to find a new service.

I've finished the graphics for all the wall facing stations, plus I've tweaked the Captain's chair a bit more.

Some slight modifications to the Captain's chair, plus some revised okudagrams, and a start on the ceiling mounted astrogator, which still needs more work.

Also, I'll start posting my WIP images on ArtStation. I'm paying for the pro subscription in order to have my portfolio there anyway, so I better make full use of the service. I hope these don't have timed tokens...
