3D interiors in Blender

I've finished the MSD area, and here's a close up of the ship list.

I originally did this list for the Charybdis following a list which appeared on TNG, so the Bradbury was already there, which is cool now in retrospect.

I added some of Bernd's and Conner's ships for the Charybdis list, and for this bridge I added all the ships I did interiors for (excluding the Zodiac as it was already destroyed by this point).

Ha, I love the ship list and the assignments on it! So many adventures out there. Very nice idea. :techman:

About those silver elements on the displays: Never liked when they started cropping up on Deep Space Nine and Voyager. It's cool that you are replicating them to achieve an accurate look, but in-universe they never made much sense to me and looked rather cheap.

@M: Thanks! As for the LCARS bits, I like the idea myself, however given the era and how restricted they were with the CRT monitors used to animate LCARS, they couldn't do the metal bits elegantly enough so that they flow into the classic LCARS elements.

@The Librarian: That was my customer's idea, and indeed it's a good one. :)

@137th Gebirg: Thanks!

@publiusr: Indeed I also like the original design quite a lot, a very fitting ship for that era.

Aaaand here are the last stations. I'll be doing some very minor final changes and upload the final renders soon.

@Matthew Raymond: hahaha, you and me both!

Alright, I've been talking with my next client and started with his commission, which is the bridge of the USS Galaxy as it looked circa 2360 (so before TNG starts).

The bridge is of course based on the Enterprise-D bridge, but with several interesting changes. The color pallet is a bit darker and colder, as are the lights. The wood accents were replaced with metal ones, and the command chairs had been replaced with a Hathaway style Captain and XO arrangement on top of a platform.

Other changes such as a new Captain's chair (the TNG chair from season 2 onward) and modified aft stations will be coming.

Yep, I open it up and I see a little box with an "X" and "IMG" in tag brackets. This is only in your most recent one. All the others load normally.

Hm, I have no problem seeing the image. Here's a link to it: https://orig01.deviantart.net/88fa/f/2017/242/d/6/c1_02_by_rekkert-dblw21c.png

I like the design, @Rekkert! I dig the color scheme and the Hathaway-like Captain's chair configuration (“Peak Performance” is one of my all-time favorite guilty pleasure episodes). I do think, though, that the horseshoe doesn't really fit the configuration and I'd love to see how it looks without it.

Nope. Still can't see it - and I now notice that the third (of four) image in the prior post also shows an "X".

I chalk it up to my company's firewall/randomly rotating proxy servers not liking the secure link designation for some reason. After almost 8 years, I've come to the conclusion that the IT droids tasked with configuring the network don't really have the first fucking clue how to do their jobs. They seem to randomly throw darts at an area to see what to change at any given time. This, of course, is hyperbole, but sometimes I do wonder what those monkeys do with themselves all day besides throwing their shit at each other.

I'm sure whatever is supposed to be there looks just as good as the pictures I can see.
