3D interiors in Blender

@137th Gebirg: Actually, as someone with scoliosis, I want one haha. From what I've seen they are very smartly designed and can be used in all 360º (hence why HAG protects the patent so vigorously). They provide support while also forcing you to change position frequently and work your back muscles, so while it was originally designed for office environments, it has gained a cult following among digital artists, as it's "healthier" than a standard chair on which you don't work your muscles, even if that makes it somewhat less comfortable. Here's a little video showcasing the different ways on which it can be used. I've already check and they aren't sold here though. :(

@Donny: Thanks mate, glad to hear you're liking it so much! :)

I've been working on dressing up the CMO office, adding in some diplomas for our good doctor, as well as a props scattered around. I've also modeled the Voyager style desk monitor, which is also placed at the nurse desk, along with some more chairs.
Also, I've made the zig-zag corridor at the back a lot wider.

I love that you're decorating the office walls. Seems Bev and Kate didn't really personalize their offices in TNG, unlike McCoy in TOS who had a penchant for alien skulls and "dark ages" medical equipment.

Yeah, while I love the TNG aesthetic, the lack of personal items for the crew is really weird sometimes. Even in quarters they just felt so generic rather than unique for each crew member, particularly in the first few seasons. You couldn't really tell the character's personalities by the spaces they inhabit.

I've created the main LCARS for the ward screen, and also expanded the entrance for the zig-zag corridor; now it does look a bit more like the open exits in the Prometheus sickbay it was supposed to emulate, I believe.
Also, here's a closeup on Pulaski's diplomas, these are all done from scratch on Inkscape, as always; though they are all based on existing designs. The two bottom ones are based on Kim's diplomas from 'Non Sequitur', and the top one is a mix of medical degrees I saw online. :p
And before anyone asks how they stay in place, my head canon is that the metal frames are magnetized. ;)
I'm assuming that the Venture is a long term assignment for our good doctor, so she did take the time to decorate the office this time. ;)

I think this is one of my favourites of all of the sets you have designed!

The colour scheme is great, and it really feels opened out, as if there is much more to sickbay than the one set that we saw on screen.

And I love Pulaski, I think had she been on the show from the beginning she would've been a lot more popular, but I never knew she had a middle name, what does the D stand for?

As someone who works at a lawyers office.. 95% of them, within the first week, hang up there diplomas, personel crap etc. but some don't hang a thing, almost a sterile office.. To each there own.. But yeah, most humans tend to personalize there work space. I have my diploma, and a bunch of my 3d renders up on my office wall :)
1 thing.. for the CMO office.. I see the small screen, but its behind her/him/it.. I was thinking, put a big screen, in front of her with patient infomation, like vitals that she just has to look up and see the information? just a thought. :)

We're leaving the office with just the one screen this time, and it shows a personnel list for the medical department. :)

Props, props everywhere! I've added in plants, hyposprays, scanners, the whole bunch. Also, I've made the lights overhead on the main ward a lot bigger, to balance out the room; as it was left quite dark without the surgical scanner at the center.

Other than the surgical area (which still needs its standing console), the other rooms are complete now. Unless a modification is requested of course.

Curious about the color scheme. Since the walls aren't grey, like Voyager, does it make sense to keep the doors grey? They look a little high-contrast.

@valkyrie013: One day someone will commission me to do a bathroom, but not today... :p

@Ryan Thomas Riddle: That's a fantastic idea! I've passed it along. :)

@Lt. Washburn: The doors are not grey, but the same metallic brown as the other dark bits on the set, and lighter in color than Voyager's. Also, they kinda were very contrasting on those sets. :)

I've modeled the standing console for the surgical bay. It ended up being the smaller version of the Voyager consoles, as the other was way too big for the room. Also, we decided to use the regular bio beds for the surgical area, instead of the flat TMP bed it had before. Overall layout here might still change somewhat.

@valkyrie013: Yeah, the Ilia bed from TMP was later used in TNG and all the way to Nemesis, but with the anatomy chart covered over with a thin mattress. That's what I've been using for this sickbay before, but it does look kinda flimsy for a surgical bed. :)

Some more small props added in, mostly medical tricorders scattered all around sickbay, and the Klingon tea set suggested by @Ryan Thomas Riddle.

Well they must have agreed because they'd always switch out the exam table for a bio-bed when doing surgeries. Were you ever considering the Voyager-style beds?

Yay! Good looking tea set. :hugegrin:

@Lt. Washburn: The Voyager style beds were the plan B if my client didn't like how the Defiant style ones looked like on the set. :)

@Ryan Thomas Riddle: :D

Here are the final renders! There were some last minute adjustments; most notably the metallic elements on the LCARS panels were changed from silver to bronze (like on Prometheus' interiors), and the chairs used on the waiting area and opposite the CMO on their office were re-scaled to be more accurate. They were too wide before, and using measurements from an auction listing I was able to scale them to the correct size.

While not the biggest set I've done, this one is the most complex in the amount of rooms and sections it has, so quite a few renders were needed to showcase everything:
