$33million in 29 hours in North America

This is really good news.

SW ROTS made 33 million on it's opening Friday too. It went on to make about
$380 Million. But the oversees draw will account for about 50% of it's worldwide take this time out. I would say 1/2 billion is a lock now for worldwide take.
That means we will have a new Trek movie much quicker this time

I can tell you now, with 150% degree of certainty that ST will NOT win the Oscar for Best Picture.

Now, if you get that disabled midget that everybody says was at their premiere and get HIM to star in the NEXT ST movie and make it about HIS struggle in Starfleet......well, THEN I could confidently assure you AT LEAST a nomination!


Actually, use some treknobabble mcguffin and have him age backwards and there would be NO contention!!!

It still disappoints me that more people saw Wolverine than Trek considering the reviews and everything.

Also if it really only makes 70ish Million, breaking 200 Million is going to be nearly impossible.

No thats incorrect, a lot of 200 million movies open less than 85 million in opening weekend, its the 300 million movies that have these epic openings. Batman Begins got 48 million I believe and broke 200 for example and X Men 2 got just over 80 and broke 200 million. Star Trek will make at minimum double whatever the opening week is but everyone who are experts at calling box office numbers say $170-$200 million and so far these people have low balled all the major films this year.

After seeing the numbers 70-90 is the low/highs and I keep going over the numbers and I believe we will break 80 million in the NORTH AMERICA box office and I say a fair chance we beat Wolverine 85 million. Remember we are doing all of this and more like holding ground in UK, Ireland, Germany, Australia compred to how Wolverine did.......

All with less screens than Wolverine.
