I've loved the show. I'm sorry to see it go off the air.
And I've enjoyed the characters. Young is ill-equipped to command the mission and he's deliberately written that way as he struggles to get the job done anyway. Rush was always ambiguous, but he holds my attention completely whenever he's on screen. I'm less interested in Eli, Chloe, and Scott, but I like where they went with Chloe. And Greer is one of my favorite characters in all of the SG franchise.
The show is frequently put-down as a Battlestar: Galactica rip-off, but this show has an optimism and an element of awe and wonder Galactica and its relentless, gratuitous gloom never even approached. I just enjoyed a less heroic, less mythological take on the Stargate universe, but one that didn't reduce its characters to complete animals.
I'd love to know where they were going with Universe. That signal from the beginning of time and the nature of Destiny. I'm gonna miss the show when the final episode rolls credits.
