25th Anniversary

25 years ago today, "Emissary" aired.

That's why a German tv station shows several episodes (The Visitor and Little Green Men among others) to honor the anniversary today. Just switched over to the proper channel.

I was actually thinking about that last night. I knew that the anniversary was coming up but I was not exactly sure when. I knew that DS9 started in early 1993, but I was not sure of the exact date. Thanks for pointing this out.

This feels like such an early anniversary. The other two happened in September, and with DS9, as soon as the calender turns, we're already at the date the premiere aired.

Same here. TNG and DS9 shaped my childhood, and I too, am eternally grateful.

That's because (for me anyway) it is. In my area, the actual anniversary is January 4.

I re-watched Emissary tonight with my dad. We both really enjoyed it.

This show shaped my teenage years. It is my favourite show of all time. These characters were my friends when I didn’t have any others. They showed me that everyone belongs somewhere.

Deep Space Nine was the show for my adulthood. I may have said it too many times, but I'll say it again: I kiss my son every day because Sisko kissed his son everyday. The show offered important examples of fatherhood, and by extension, of manhood in the 1990s

I've been along time Ds9 fan ever since Emmissary originally was shown on tv. Happy 25 th anniversary Ds9. It's still on e om my favorite Star trek tv series.

I only watched a few episodes. Then I read several novels. They made me want to watch the whole show at long last.
