Yeah, and like someone above said... things are different this year! Instead of CTU, it's FBI.

I dunno, I understand that this show works on dramatic irony so you have to show people being evil and all that crap. But really? I'd rather have generic Muslim terrorists than the FBI/CSI/NCIS/CTU/IRS/ATF agent turned bad. It's the one thing that really annoys me for some reason. Just like I hated the fact that anyone could walk into CTU like it was a mall on Black Friday.

Not a bad little outing. We got our usual over-the-top Bauer badassery. We also got the softer, more compassionate Bauer you folks were asking for early on in this thread. Two birds with one stone.

I also got to play my usual 24 game... "Spot the Canadian", and this TV movie didn't disappoint. What have we now?

- Gil Bellows! Fresh out of the 70s!

- Colm Feore. So he's the First gentleman now eh? That's something at least.

- Carly Pope. It was nice to see her in her underwear again. It was nice to see her again in general actually. She'll be a good addition to the show.

Now what about the movie... I heard they wanted to set part of a season in Africa. Guess this was it. Back to the U.S. now right? I haven't been keeping up. Guess I'd better get reading. One thing bugs me though. Do we really need a new President? I would rather have had President Palmer back along with his VP Powers Booth. Oh well.

I really liked it. Jack is back and I'm ready for day 7. Let's do this again in January. (or Monday night for some of you.:shifty:)

It looks as if the leader of the recruitment survived the landmine blast. I caught a glimpse of him and a line spoken in that teaser. That implies we will spend some more time in Africa alright

I thought it was good. Nice set-up for Season 7. Not without the usual cliches, like having a kid stupidly go back for something and get either himself or in this case someone else killed in the process. I call it The Omega Man syndrome. If you've seen that movie, you'll know what I'm talking about.

Oh yeah, something else... Mr. Adventure asked about the real time thing. This episode didn't feel like it was real-time. Jack and the kids got to the village 5 miles away (or was it kilometers) in no time. They even got from the bush right into town between the commercial break. Literally.

:wtf:

That and I liked the Presidents' inaugural speech.

the preview for season 7 was better then this movie! LOL
I didn't see any preview... was it the same one that's been on the net for the past year?

This one was a much longer one, shoing how this film connects with season 7 and few other nice surprises!
For some reason, I always seem to miss out on the previews over here... I'm going to have to see if I can find that on youtube or something.

or everyone happily walking through the gate only for the kid to be shot down in a hail of gunfire

Having Bauer as your boy scout leader would rock

Boy 1- The fire isn't starting

Bauer- DAMMIT!

Unless i missed it, i did not here what exactly happed to president Wayne Palmer? did he actully die in S6? he was in a bad way last we saw him. Cleary, Daniels did, at some point, got sworn in and officialy replaced him.

Global doesn't show the previews for their shows. :(

I missed it too. Wikipedia says he's in a coma apparently.

Real time? No, that was Bauer time, somethign we seem to see every season of the show. :D

Ehh.... it wasn't bad to me. Seemed rather banal and predictable. But I like the intent at least.

Season 6's two biggest dropped plot threads were:
1. What happened to President Palmer? Did he live/die?
2. What happened to President Logan? Did he live/die?

I just hope that they don't break the "24 hour" format to bring us anything from Africa. You don't mess with the gimmick and I know they did consider doing this.
