24? Bring Back Michelle?

In the opening minutes of 24's fifth season Michelle and Tony Almeda are injured in an explosion. The explosion presumably killed Michelle and criticaly injured Tony.

Later in the day -some 12 hours later infact- Tony has recovered from his injuries and discovered Michelle is dead and wants to exact revenge. Long-story short he ends up "killed" himself.

Flash-forward to two seasons later (something like 6 years in the show) and Tony is alive. Turns out he was revived at somepoint in Day 5 and enlisted to work with a mercenary group.

His death and resurection mostly ended up being nothing more than something akin to the cliff-hangers in old movie serials. You know, the ones where the hero goes over the cliff at the end of one "episode" and by the next episode he had somehow survived?

Anyway, what are the chances Michelle can be brought back? If anything else, there's a lot more room to bring Michelle back as it is possible she was put in something like a WitSec program when she was taken to Cedars Sinai hospital and had her injuries treated.

(And, no, I don't want to see her back just because I loves me some Reiko Aylesworth.)

As much as I do love Reiko, I think considering they miraculously had Tony revived from the dead later in the day it would be silly to do it again .

I would like to see Wayne Palmer appear though.

Trekker4747, everything about your post is exactly why 24 sucks ass, and has sucked ass for some time.

Well, with Tony it was completely stupid because we saw him die! But, now, they say "Oh, 10 minute later he was revived... somehow and then recruited by this mercenary group... somehow."

At least with Michelle there's a whole lot more ambiguity to what happened to her.

Bite your tounge! I love this show. It's not nearly as edgy, cool, and sharp as it was in S2 or even S3, but it's still -for me- a fun series.

Sometimes you talk about your derision of shows because they jumped the shark. How long ago do you think that was with 24?

Sometime in season 4. Which was 5 years ago. But as far as "derision" goes it sometimes depends on how the show handled to shark-jump and comes out of it. 24 came out of it a bit campier and OTT, but still mostly fun.

Nope. The character deaths are what made season five so powerful, and, really, the only good season since the second year. It was bad enough that they brought Tony back. Brininging Michelle back would eliminate any worth in bringing back Tony in the first place, would be ridiculous, since she was definitely dead, no wiggling room allowed (unlike Tony...who was only 99.99% dead :p), and wouldn't be worth it without having Tony around for her to play off. All her best moments (and, indeed, almost all her moments period) in seasons two, three, four, and five are playing off of Tony.

Yeah we did. She like, exploded in a huge ball of flames. Tony found her dead body. The another explosion consumed her again. She's dead.

Maybe Jack can die and next season he can fight his way out of hell where all the bad guys he killed reside. And then David Palmer, Bill Buchanan and Michelle can show up to help him escape. :p

Don't forget about George Mason, he should come back with super powers from ground zero when the nuke went off ;)

Loved Michelle, but dead is dead. Or at least, it should be. I hated the way they brought Tony back... just to make him a bad guy. Let Michelle RIP. :p

She was laying in the yard with a seemingly unconscious body with Tony cradling her, both were consumed in the second explosion. There's nothing about her body, other than her not moving, to suggest she was "dead" after the first explosion other than us being "told" she was dead. ;)

I just really someone would smack Chloe. She's been a Goddamned idiot for too long.

I'm watching season 7 here in Asia now and I find that I miss Morris.

She should stay dead. Not only would it nullify Tony's whole motivation throughout S7 (They killed my wife and unborn son. She's not dead? Oh, okay, never mind then.), but also a big part of Jack's character development. He is who he is in large part because of the friends he's lost, and each time he loses one of the handful of people he's close to, he gets a little darker.

I hate you. :p
