21 Jump Street - It's actually awesome.

It was intermittently funny and entertaining (Nick Offerman's cameo was hilarious, so was the scene with Depp and DeLuise), but rarely memorable. Twelve hours after seeing the movie most I can't recall much of it, which isn't a great sign of longevity. Still, it's doing well at the box office, so there will inevitably be a sequel.

Yeah... His two minute scene was the highlight of the movie.

:wtf:

While going to see the movie for a cameo is dubious, it was a good scene.

I enjoyed the movie. Those of you who have described Nick Offerman's appearance in the film as a "cameo" really need to consult a dictionary.

Relatively unknown actor playing a small part in a film =/ a cameo.

FWIW I intentionally over-stated things to better point out the absurdity of the notion of going to see a movie just to see a single, two-minute, scene of some actor.

However the Depp and DeLuise cameo, not the Robinson-Peete one, was like the icing on the cake. However that crazy reviewer probably thinks it breaks Jump Street canon as established in their series finale.

Why, what happened in the finale that'd preclude the cameo?

Maybe it wasn't the finale, but in an episode they had interviews of the characters of what they did after Jump Street, Like the police garage attendant became a member of congress. A dead DEA Agent was a monk

He's well known for his role on Parks and Recreation (the breakout character of that series, even). He appeared in exactly one scene. Close enough.

I guess it was just one of those shows that never caught my attention the first time - so why go for a second helping? :/

Saw this earlier today. I am surprised that I actually liked it. I thought the commericals looked stupid, not funny, and I was highly skeptical of Channing Tatum.

However, I've got to stay that the film got the premise of 21 Jump Street, and even though they turned it into a comedy, they didn't turn it into a travesty. Perhaps what won me over was how the movie mocked the whole remake trend early on in the captain's monologue to the Tatum and Hill. It was very spot on. I also like how the new bromance was paralled by the original bromance. The cameos were all great. I'm sure I missed a lot of references to the old show I haven't watched it in a long time, but what I caught was cool.
