Same here. The reaction from the players and fans when it was confirmed was absolutely brilliant. Damn FIFA but gotta love that football can produce moments like that. :mallory:

As expected Tuchel's squad in particular his defensive picks have been found out.

James out for 2 games minimum leaving RB and LB now exposed as Spence will have to double up as first choice RB and back up to LB.

No Lewis Hall, No Luke Shaw, No Trent in the squad.

He's wasted the last 18 months and I can't tell you how much I loathe him aas England manager. If the FA wanted to German coach they should have gone for Klopp. If they wanted a foreign coach they should have gone for Carlo.

They should have given the job to Lee Carsley.

You're assuming any of those men would have wanted the job. I'm not even sure Carsley did TBH.

I don't disagree that some of his squad picks have been iffy, but few England managers ever please everyone. I think a decent side will make mincemeat of our defence, but plenty of teams grow as tournaments progress, we've topped the group, unbeaten and scored 6 goals and that's kinda base requirements for the group stage. Gets harder from here on in and you can only rely on Bellingham and Kane so much.

I think if we don't at least make the quarter finals he's gone.

England have had some very slow starts and had reasonable tournaments before, anyone old enough will recall both Mexico 86 and Italia 90 were very slow but ended up having good tournaments.

The Canada - South Africa game didn't reach any great heights but I'm pleased Canada won. It was almost as though SA were playing for a shootout from the start, whereas Canada at least tried to make something happen. Good on 'em.

On a somewhat more trivial note, IMO Canada's strip is absolutely mint. I'm Australian and I'd happily wear that shirt. :D
