2023 book releases

So what is new besides the boxed set of the three Prodigy youth novels? I see one or two of the individual Prodigy novels on the shelf at my local B&N, but no boxed sets locally as of yet. I could have sworn I heard about something else coming out this month.

I was about to say that (at least on the B&N web site) the Prodigy books are actually cheaper in paperback than they are in eBook.

Then I noticed that the eBooks were German translations.

Then I noticed that the three Prodigy novels' cover prices add up to 2 cents less than the cover price of the boxed set of all three.

:censored: the boxed set!

It was originally scheduled October 10 but has since been postponed November 21.
It's already out in some book stores that broke street date, the author was showing some images that he was sent on Facebook. My local store doesn't have it though :(

Are the prodigy e-books only available in German? No English ebooks means I haven’t read them.

Why is it there is no English Prodigy eBooks yet there are German eBooks? I'd have bought the eBooks had they been English. I guess S&S doesn't mind lost sales.

Or more likely they crunched the numbers, and figured the additional sales they would get didn't justify the additional costs to release in an electronic format. These are kids books, and they can't really sell ebook versions to school libraries, and parents might avoid ebook versions if they are trying to limit their kids' screen time.

Australian school libraries have had access to the loaning of eBooks since about 2015. I assumed it has slowly caught on in USA.
In fact, libraries do purchase and lend eBooks. Also the "additional costs" are negligible, as it would be handled in-house by the production staff that already formats all of S&S's other eBooks. So I don't get it at all, either.

I guess I have to apologize here, my information was from pre-pandemic and apparently a little out of date. Based on your comments, I checked, and our school board does now offer ebook lending through an app called Sora, by OverDrive. I stand corrected!

Regular public libraries have had ebook lending for years… I have borrowed some of them myself! But I didn’t know it was now available in school libraries.
