    A little more information here:

    https://comicbook.com/startrek/news...picture-era-announced-echoes-marc-guggenheim/

"When everything in life feels like it's moving too fast towards the future, it's always important to step back and revisit where it all came from. And that's exactly what we're doing with this comic focusing on the Star Trek: The Motion Picture time frame," says series editor Heather Antos, who also hints that this series could include connections to other current IDW Star Trek comics. "No one knows more about this period in Trek history than Guggenheim, we've learned…and we could think of no one better suited to take Kirk and his crew on this wild adventure. Paired with Chudakov's energetic, character-driven inks, this is one mission that the crew of the Enterprise soon won't forget. Oh, and did we mention that there are possible easter eggs to some of our other Trek books, too?"

    And here:
    https://twitter.com/JacksonLanzing/status/1625968911241060353

Jackson Lanzing: Psyched the finally share that Mark Guggenheim is joining the STAR TREK line with this indispensable look at the original series crew!

“Echoes” is an apt title - as this wild story will reverberate all the way to DAY OF BLOOD.

The Trek comics galaxy is just getting started.

So it seems it will also connect to Star Trek/Defiant

Interesting that they're going with a specific "The Motion Picture" branding on the title!

That Jake Bartok cover, though... it's lovely, and I must have it! :adore:

Echoes is the first IDW comic that has sounded interesting to me for years.

Well, in my case, the Lower Decks comic was the first IDW Trek comic since before the pandemic that piqued my interest. But yes, Echoes is the second.

Definitely looking forward to that TMP comic*.
As for the other one...I'm getting kind of sick of the "all star cast" thing. What used to be special is now a little done to death.

*Although the plot description and fact that the interloper is masked in all images makes me think it might not be for me after all. Fingers crossed though.

No idea. DS9 remains my fav and I'd love to see a novel this year. But after TNG and DS9 maybe VOY will be next on the docket for a legacy release? I'd also love to see a new Picard novel as those are consistently better than the show itself and in some small part scratch the itch left by the end of the LitVerse. I think it's past time for a Seven-centric novel.

Hopefully a pre-Season 3 Titan novel, similar to the two Discovery Shenzhou novels

There is none scheduled from S&S, and IIRC David Mack said in an interview he did related to Harm's Way that there likely won't be anymore Trek novels from S&S in 2023.

From Titan, there's the Sisko Autobiography which is due in 2023, though I don't believe they've announced a specific release date yet.

So it is, October 10. Though it does take some digging to find it. For some reason it doesn't show up on an Amazon search for Star Trek, you actually have to type in "Star Trek Sisko" and set the results up in publication order.
