2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia

It is questionable if the Japanese team would have survived an extra time....

I agree. I think we saw why Belgium was the better team. Belgium had the endurance and resolve to go the distance. Japan had the energy to score some goals "early" but were running out of energy in the end. It was inevitable that Belgium would score again I think, if not now then in extra time.

The final goal was world class at its best. And it's not for sure that Brazil will be World Champion this year....

Damn, that Belgium/Japan match was a lot of fun! Unfortunately, I missed out on the winning goal because my streaming feed cut out.

I look forward to the Belgium/Brazil match with zeal! :D

England v Belgium - World Cup Final...

We'll try this time, promise
That would be awesome. :guffaw:

Brazil will make it. They'll score one goal then Neymar will get tapped and he will writhe around in pain for the rest of the match.

It's a pity Neymar goes on with that sort of crap. When he ditches the showboating, the narcissism and the pathetic diving and rolling about, and actually plays football, he's damned good. Being the world's most expensive player has clearly gone to his head and at this rate he'll soon (somehow) overtake Narcisso in the bloated ego stakes. I don't suppose he cares, though.

Great comeback from Belgium. The winning goal was just brilliant.

Sweden vs Switzerland.
The funny thing is that as a kid i used to get confused about those two nations. Both countries are famous for being neutral. Hence i mix up the two.

If Löw stays head coach of Germany there isn't much hope for change. The Germans will struggle to qualify for the next Euro Champs. If they fail to qualify it would be good. Then they will be forced to change something. We survived a big tournament without Holland and Italy. We will do so without the Germans, too. Failing to qualify would be as bad as anything England had to suffer so far. Players from foreign countries aren't interested in playing in the Bundesliga anymore. The time of German dominance is over.

Rumpelfußball is back....:D

Jesus, it's not like there aren't any good German players around. There will definetely be changes, regardless of who the coach is. And of course Germany will qualify for the Euro.

A new coach would have inherited a demoralised, insecure team whose next match (in that Nations League thingy even, so a game that actually counts towards something) is against that great French team in September. People would have grown impatient quickly. Löw's always been somewhat polarizing so he knows how to deal with that. So, there's that. Will be interesting to see what the squad will look like.

Oh yeah, so do I. Both teams like to play openly so I hope it'll be very entertaining.

I appreciate that Löw is a calm person who isn't inclined to rush things. I don't say the Germans won't qualify for the next tournament but there are always possibilities. And failing to qualify happened to big teams..... They (Holland and Italy) will return eventually. How strong remains to be seen.

I wish England all the best. With Spain gone, England got a good chance to go all the way to the final.
