2014 MLB Season: How Many Pitchers Will Die For Our Sins?

I just hope that KC doesn't have to sit and wait forever for who wins in the NL.

However I want to congratulate Baltimore, well done. I know they were swept in 4 but they were 4 fantastic games that really could have went either way. I was routing for KC but never against the Orioles. I know in this world of win it all or else its failure, we should still recognize their accomplishments.

A lot of energy in the city tonight, you could probably tell from the coverage in The K. This is just a fantastic day to be a Kansas Citian!

Here's to hoping they continue this momentum and take the World Series in four!

Overall, sort of a slow-going game though, it's run-time was decent and no extra innings, a 2-1 game is pretty bland. But during that last half-inning it was just fantastic to watch.

Great night! The party around the city is going to be going on all night long!

Nicely done, Royals. That was a tough-fought series with a stellar performance by Kansas City's bullpen, which was just lights-out.

Now I hope they successfully combat either Giants Even-Year Bullshit or Cardinals Satan Bullshit, whichever one comes out of the NL.

Honestly, in this game it mostly seemed like Baltimore had just given up and resigned themselves to fate. I'd also argue the Royals "held back" to some degree or another to prevent tiring out, injuries, or what have you since no matter what odds were in their favor of taking this series. If not in 4-straight, they'd get another game sooner or later.

Baltimore not caring and the Royals likely not trying very hard resulted in a pretty tepid game. Exciting to watch, glad they swept and they're on a very good, record-making, streak here but it was kind of a tepid game.

Still exciting to see the sea of blue in Kauffman and the excitement from the fans. Wish I could have been there and wish I could attend a game in the World Series.

Probably the best stuff for me was seeing George Brett's reactions from the owners' box.

Tepid game, fantastic night. And, as I said, time to take the series in four.

Baltimore cared, but the team lived and died by the dinger this year, and KC's pitching denied them the dinger. An offense based on mashing taters and swinging and missing on pitches that are in a different ZIP code won't succeed in the postseason, and KC's success is a pretty great objective example of why you don't build a team by $/WAR or some shit.

We do have some solid pitching.

As I've said before, I think, it's amazing to see this. I really never thought the Royals would ever been in the post-season again but the front-office, coaching and everything has really come together in the last few years and it's great to see the Royals come this far and have so much hope.

Hopefully the Os will tweak the roster for next season. Sometimes when the home runs don't come you have to depend on sissy ball to win.

KC used timely hitting, aggressive base running, stellar defense, and a rock solid bullpen to win.

So basically, Billy Beane needs to give everyone that bought "Moneyball" or a ticket to "Moneyball: a Brad Pitt joint" a refund.

Sissy ball? Really? Small ball is a good thing. It's baseball strategy, cleverness, and ingenuity. Homeruns are just too easy. It's ultimately less satisfying Baseball.
