Ringer is a guilty pleasure. i really enjoy that show. and yeah, i'm aware of how silly and absurd it is. if Alcatraz comes back i'll still watch it...but if it gets canceled then i really won't miss it all that much. its just a time waster.

The only three shows on network television that I watch with any regularity are Community (awesome! deserves a renewal!), New Girl (uneven in quality... less concerned about a renewal), and Grey's Anatomy (guilty pleasure... long in the tooth but one more year would be okay with me).

I honestly couldn't care less about what happens to everything else.

I'm enjoying Ringer no matter how light weight it is...

but I'm looking at Ian Guffold and I'm thinking to myself how reed Richards is now the big bad in the Ultimate Marvel Universe. No, not a phase or a trick or a double agent, they cancelled the comic and gave every one but reed a happy ever after. The elasticity in his brain drove him bat shit and evil. Ben Grim, no longer the Thing is knocking boots with the Invisible Girl. This happened years ago. Reed now actually looks like a Xenomorph from Aliens because he gave his brain an erection and it's grown outward bound about three feet past where his skull used to finish...

Yeah. Ian Gulffold was awful in those Fantastic Four movies but then, so was everyone else who is usually awesome. Maybe Ian could be a fairly decent Mr Fantastic with a better director and script that isn't utter shit?

Bent has been on for two weeks.

Hell.

Missing on for three.

They make up their mind fast these days.

Happy Endings and Last Man Standing I think are safe, more so Happy Endings.

Raising Hope I feel is safe, and Fringe might get a miracle of an ending because there has been buzz about a final 15 episodes for months now. But the fact there has been buzz and nothing real is worrying.

NBC can't cancel everything and Community is almost their number 1 comedy now.

CBS I don't care about.

CW no one cares about.

It looks like the only one of my current shows not in the Already Renewed/Likely Renewed/Ending categories is Community. I hope that show pulls off a renewal. It just gets funnier and funnier.

Re: 2012 TV Renewal Axe/List

A few things I could see happening next season...

* The Secret Circle movies to Fridays Nights

* FOX will try to stabilize monday nights with Bones & Touch.

* CBS should move 2 Broke Girls to Thursdays to find a show capable of holding onto TBBT lead in.

* NBC will try to expand The Voice to milk it as much as possible to hold its crumbling lineup together.

* I do think CW will try to rebrand itself under the new leadership that took over from Dawn Ostroff.

CW no one cares about.
I care, they have some great shows, I watch The Vampire Diaries, Nikita and Supernatural every week.:bolian:

Other than that I like Happy Endings, Parks & Recreation, Once Upon A Time, The Middle, HIMYM, The Good Wife, Revenge, Smash, Glee and Last Man Standing.

I think Nikita is the only one of my shows that's in real danger of getting cancelled, I hope it survives.

Awake's pretty good and I'd like to see where they go with that premise. Other than that, I'm okay with the stuff that will probably get the axe.

How could they possibly top "Do you CWingo?" as a marketing campaign? ;)

Me too. It seems to be setting up a potentially interesting mythology. Too bad Touch will continue and this somewhat intellectually engaging show likely won't...

Frankly they could cancel everything on broadcast tv right now and it'd be a good thing.

I can't stand cop/lawyer/hospital procedurals--they've outstayed their welcome--if you've seen one you've seen them all(CSIs, NCIS--I'm astonished this is so highly rated, Harrys Law, L&O, Awake, Greys Anatomy, Bones, Castle Body of Proof,). The Lost-esque tv shows like Alcatraz, Fringe, etc simply don't work and networks would be wise to avoid them at all costs--do more traditional serialized sff dramas with a modest ensemble, season long arcs and no non-linear storytelling or series spanning mysteries that are drawn out or the life of the show. Dallas and Melrose Place would be disappointed for what passes as primetime soaps these days with weak offerings like Revenge, Good Christian Bitches and Desperate Housewives--which should have ended after year one. Sitcoms these days suck flat out with lowbrow humor(New Girl, Community, 30 Rock, Up All Night which simply isn't funny at all)--gone are the days of smartly written comedies that *were* actually funny i.e. The Golden Girls or Roseanne.

I started out this tv season hoping there'd be a quality renaissance but nope another poor season.

The only show I still watch is RINGER--in my opinion the sleeper of the year--no one is talking about it and it isn't getting much buzz yet it is actually good(so far 19 episodes in that doesn't mean the last 3 episodes won't undercut all that came before and all the goodwill itgenerated from me)and as the axe list reflects it looks to being cancelled after it runs its 22 episodes over the next 3 weeks but I found it the only consistently entertaining series all season. And I think I'll be okay with being cancelled since the track record for these limited--premise shows is that if they are fortunate enough to start strong and give a good first season--which Ringer has--the subsequent seasons are all downhill i.e. Heroes and BSG--so it ending may be a blessing in disguise.

Other than that Supernatural stopped being good after S5 and it looks like the CW will drag it out long after its expiration date no matter whether the show is still good or not.

The Vampire Diaries obviously isn't going anywhere anytime soon because of the buzz it generates but this last season was very aimless and ultimately just mediocre and while this season could have just been an "off" year and the writers will rechage their creative batteries and come back with a better season next year the odds are they won't and it is downhill from here.

And while thanks to LOST there has been a glut of sff shows greenlit for the last several years almost all of them have been bad--I was thinking the other day despite how mediocre Voyager was its writing was light years better than shows like The River, The Event, Surface, Haven, Eureka, V, FlashForward.

Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad have all have renewals extending through at least next year.

Also, Prime Suspect and The Firm were cancelled.

Startrekwatcher, I'm glad you're not in charge!! :rommie:
You hate everything except stuff on the CW, the stuff you shouldn't be admitting to enjoying!
