2011 MLB Season Discussion

I know it won't last 'cause it's early, but I absolutely love seeing Baltimore and Toronto holding down the top two spots in the AL East. :techman:

The Giants fan who was beaten by two skinhead Dodgers fans (their heads were shaved so that's what I'm calling them) is in a coma and may have brain damage. They had to remove part of his skull to ease pressure. :(

The two guys fled in a sedan driven by a woman who had a young boy with her.

Damn. Last I heard he was in stable condition, this is definitely sad news.

Pirates win again with a spectacular outing by Charlie Morton.

And the Mets beat the Phillies. Yup, Hell is cold right now.

These are weird times in Baseball to start the early season. Giants are 1-3, Orioles are 4-0, Red Sox are 0-4, and the Mets are playing well. In terms of the Giants, I hope things turn around because this is not a good start and I'm sure they will. It's time to look past the championship and focus on this year, and that might mean taking the world series patch off the jersey. It's bad jinx.

Ubaldo Jiminez is on the 15 day disabled list... The Rockies are screwed. They start slow enough as it is and always have to make a huge comeback after the all-star break. Bad time to lose their #1 guy.

^Glad he's not with the Nats anymore, then. :p

Yeah, the Mets are playing well....like that will last.  :p

Dang! The Twins' Tsuyoshi Nishioka collided with Nick Swisher and broke his fibula in last night's game (it was a clean play). Nishioka was the only fairly significant addition the Twins made this year and now he'll probably be out for quite some time.

Manny Ramirez busted for a drug violation again, so instead of complying with MLB he just retired.

A WIN! They do exist!

Finally. I think it's good that the Sox' first win came against the Yankees, too. Hopefully this will finally wake them up and they get things going.

Great win for the Giants in their home opener yesterday. It wouldn't be a opener at AT&T park without a little torture and there was some yesterday, especially that battle between Teriot and Wilson.

Was it me or does Pujols not look all that great at first anymore. There were a number of balls thrown to him that he missed and it just looked odd that a former gold glove winner made those kind of mistakes. Everyone talks about his hitting, but his defense yesterday was very iffy.

Loved the ceremonies too. The Giants put on some great shows and yesterday was terrific, with the raising of the flag and the guy from Train doing a good rendition of the National Anthem.

Going to tonight's Twins/Oakland game with a group from a local bar. Not looking forward to the bus ride, though. It only takes an hour to get to Target Field, but it'll take everyone at least 2 hours to find the bus after the game.

Still enjoying the topsy-turviness of the AL East while it lasts. Nice little win by the Jays in Anaheim yesterday. Here's hoping they can pull off another one tonight. The Angels sure aren't being helped by the prototypical glacial start by Vernon Wells, though. Ah well, their problem now :D
