2011 MLB Season Discussion

Apparently three Giants fans were attacked by Dodgers fans in the parking lot after the game. I'm just going to say that, were this Philadelphia, the entire city of fans would have been blamed for the attack. Rant aside, I hope for their speedy recovery.

To be fair, if it was in Philadelphia, the entire city would have been INVOLVED. :borg:

I know, I know; you throw batteries at someone a COUPLE times, and you're labeled as bad guys. At least you guys weren't the fans that booed Santa Claus. Oh, wait... ;)

Hey... Ryan Dempster is coming up huge for my fantasy team so far.

Edit: Just as he gives up a grand slam.

Can someone explain to me why the stupid Houston Astros Manager left in Brandon Lyon after he had the bases loaded and only one out, on Opening Day? Maybe I just don't get it, but I think that's why the Astros choked, just like the Brewers did yesterday.

Nope... just posted the same thing on Twitter. 6 hits and one out. :wtf: Way to say to the fans "we don't give a shit about winning"

Yeah. I'm watching this game and they in Citizan's Bank Park maybe trying to ruin a opening day in Philly. They did well against Halliday, and what happens? The Stupid Manager probably loses some brain cells and says, "Here you go Phillies, here's your first win on a platter". I probably shouldn't be pissed off (Hell, I live on the other side of the coast, what do I care) but I just don't get what Houston was thinking. Any chance you have to beat Philly is something you have to take, especially with that pitching staff "of Aces" (according to most people).

Thank you :D
BTW, I love how one run is "did well against Halladay."

Unfortunately, I had class, so I couldn't watch the end of this game. Quite a shocking, but pleasant result.

On the topic of fans:

The Worst Sports Fans in America

New York Yankees
Satan's Chosen Team

Boston Red Sox
Insufferable Hypocrites

Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies
The Meanest Fans in America

So they won't hit 10,000? Actually, anyone know how close they are? I wonder if they can overtake the Braves and hit it first.

What's the best WTL record a team has finished with? I can't see any team going 162-0 as such a feat would be huge undertaking.

116-46, 2001 Mariners. Tied ( I guess) with the 1906 Cubs, who went 116-36. Fewer games, better win percentage, so technically better i guess if you want to project it out...

Either way, yeah, never happening. Would destroy any other sports record, and make things like trying to go 19-0 in the NFL look like just a cute little feat.

Then again, baseball's all about hanging tough over a long period. I mean, it's a sport where you can breeze into the Hall of Fame if your career batting average equates to failing in 60% of your at bats (batting .400). :)
