No, i wasn't being disingenuous, but I am very prejudiced against homosexuals.
You are in the wrong place then. And how did you end up as a Star Trek fan? All that IDIC stuff just "whoosh!" right over your head?
No, i wasn't being disingenuous, but I am very prejudiced against homosexuals.
We just started episode 1 of season 3 last night.I haven't seen 3rd season to know for sure.
I'd say yes and no. Some of it, yes, and especially the number of participants that have nice bodies. But I know about stuff that was going on when my mom was in prison, so it isn't totally unrealistic, and as for the nice bodies - well, these *are* actresses, after all.It does have lesbians in it. yes, there is lesbian sex probably for sensationalism, I wager.
I think your post here is intentionally so.So Lesbians have co opted the color orange now?
Why do they think they get to have a monopoly on things and try to turn everything they can get their hands on as being gay in some way?
That's extremely disingenuous.Orange is the color of prison jumpsuits. The lesbianism isn't related to the color scheme.
Also, the show isn't ALL about lesbianism. Perhaps you want to go watch the show so you actually know something about the topic at hand, and then come back?
No, i wasn't being disingenuous, but I am very prejudiced against homosexuals. and i really don't' appreciate the liberal attitude that they can not be criticized in any manner what so ever because conservatives do it therefore it must be bigotry and you have to shut up because you have no right to be a bigot sheer utter crapload.
They have a lot of dishonesty about them, such as how they have co-opted the word lifestyle to mean that it means a reference to their orientation.
So if the orange color doesn't represent their plight, because there still is a fair amount of other forms of bigotry and prejudice against, then I am very confused on what they are trying to use the color to symbolize for them.
And your personal attacks against me does not help matters much. Know this, I do know a lot about the shaming techniques and tactics from liberals. So if you want to get along with me please, don't use them against me. I do not appreciate being corrected in any way and will NOT comply, and you will only end up getting me banned from this site because I will fight you any way I can.

This is completely unacceptable.
There are many gay people who read and post regularly here and many friends of gay people, family of gay people. It is painful to read this in what should be a friendly forum about star trek, I'd imagine for some people it is like an awful slap in the face.
Just substitute "gay" with "black" if you don't get the picture of how this comes across.
You have some serious problems and they unfortunately really came to a head in this post.I think your post here is intentionally so.So Lesbians have co opted the color orange now?

I am very confused
Hell, I've not seen the show at all, I know nothing about fashion, but my interpretation of "orange is the new black" is the jumpsuit's replacing that old standard of the "little black dress" in most women's closets. Don't know if that's right or not.it's still very confusing about what they mean by the title.

Homosexuals are indecent immoral bullies, just like all liberals and conservatives and Christians are.
So, you admit that you are incredibly bigoted against Gay people, and you throw out a bunch of insults and bigotry, and you think that's fine and dandy, but, it's above the pale to call you on it? Why do you feel it's OK for you to be insulting and say bigoted things (that you yourself readily admit are bigoted), but, it's not OK to fire back at you in kind? When you called me disingenuous that was personal attack on me. I was just expressing a negative opinion on something I find distasteful. And insulting me over it, especially with a poor assumption based on ignorance, is also another personal attack. You are the one who is personally attacking me, I did no such thing;. You just got annoyed and took it personally and started in on me as your kind ALWAYS do, and you think you have the right and the authority to impose yourself on to me and try to correct me.
You have none of either, and I will not comply until you earn what true respect and tolerance is and learn how to treat me with such.
And I don't give a flying fig about respect. Respect is just another word for snobbery elitism to pee on us peons.
However, if you want my respect, you will treat me with it, and not brow beat me over the head with it, is that clear? Respect is earned, and it is not earned by imposing yourself with the intent to correct me. If you treat me with respect, I will treat you with respect. That is the only deal I will give to you, it is up to you to accept it or not, and if you won't, then that tells me all I need to know about you.
But i know you won't because you people are all the same.
Now, you will not accomplish anything by your bs attacks on me. You should just drop the matter. I leave it up to you to continue this crap YOU have started.
Now, from what I've read about the show, the woman has a boyfriend but also likes a female inmate.
That's not lesbianism, that bisexual.
I don't like people like you being silenced.

I don't care if it is acceptable or not. You are the ones who are in the error here.
And i don't care. You will not silence me nor shut me up,

Slate.com had a great article, tangentially related to this topic last month:
Orange Is the New Black Is the New Star Trek

I prefer you shout to the world how you feel about this.
It's easier to identify you that way and will get you nowhere in life.![]()

And this is all diverting from Catarina's DELIGHTFUL image of 7 of 9 as Nicky with a Starfleet delta trampstamp.

I don't even believe gays co-opted the word lifestyle to begin with. In fact, the most prominent use of it in reference to the "gay lifestyle" was during the early years of the HIV/AIDS crisis where it was mistakenly thought to be a "gay disease" that affected only those who practiced a so-called gay lifestyle. Besides, it's not a lifestyle as in you choose to live the hipster or a goth lifestyle, it's the way they are born. They have a lot of dishonesty about them, such as how they have co-opted the word lifestyle to mean that it means a reference to their orientation.
Nothing. The title and the color orange has nothing to do with lesbians. So if the orange color doesn't represent their plight, because there still is a fair amount of other forms of bigotry and prejudice against, then I am very confused on what they are trying to use the color to symbolize for them.
