2 or More Trek Actors in Non-Trek Episodes or Movies

Venn Diagram for those who appeared in Star Trek, Star Wars, and Doctor Who (the big three):
  • Christopher Neame (Unferth in Heroes and Demons - Jerec in Dark Forces II - Skagra in Shada)
  • Simon Pegg (Scotty in Star Trek '09 - Unkar Plutt in The Force Awakens - Editor in The Long Game)
  • Deep Roy (Keenser in Star Trek '09 - Droopy McCool in Return of the Jedi - Mr. Sin in The Talons of Weng-Chiang)
  • W. Morgan Sheppard (Graves in The Schizoid Man - Strip Miner in Force Commander - Delaware in The Impossible Astronaut)
  • David Warner (Talbot in Star Trek V - Brashin in Force Commander - Azlok in Dreamland)
Some of them have multiple roles in a given franchise. Like Christopher Neame, who was also a Nazi officer on Enterprise in Storm Front. Simon Pegg voiced Dengar in Clone Wars. W Morgan Sheppard had plenty of other roles on Star Trek, such as the Klingon Warden in TUC, a Vulcan in Trek XI and the alien Ahab on Voyager in the episode Bliss. David Warner's other Trek roles are Gorkon in TUC and Gul Madred in Chain of Command, and in Doctor Who he was Professor Grisenko in Cold War.

All of them (except for Deep Roy) have multiple Star Trek roles and in many cases multiple Doctor Who or Star Wars roles.

I simplified the list by only including their first role or first prominent role.

Just watched an old TV movie on "YouTube", a spiritual successor to the "War of the Worlds" radio broadcast: "Without Warning". Among the newscaster crew are John de Lancie and Spencer Garrett (Simon Tarses).

Stephen Collins (Decker) and Catherine Hicks (whale lady) each had a starring role in a Star Trek movie.

And they wound up starring as a married couple, Reverend and Mrs. Camden, in 7th Heaven, a corny yet relatively wholesome tv show. Btw, the show had a nice theme song. Sadly, it was revealed several years ago that Stephen Collins personal life wasn't all that wholesome.

A movie that comes to mind that starred two Trek actors is the Rodney Dangerfield comedy Back to School. Sally Kellerman and Terry Farrell were both in the movie. Each one played the love interest of one or the other Melon father-son duo.

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has two:

Nicholas Guest plays Todd Chester and the Weapons Officer Cadet in TWOK
Natalia Nogulich plays Helen Shirley and Admiral Nechayev in TNG and DS9

‘Tis the season!

I've been watching Mannix reruns. There's one or two Trek or more alums in just about every other episode. Last week both Mariana Hill (Helen Noel) :adore: and Barbara Baldwin (Angela Martine/Teller/Lisa) were in the 1968 episode, "You Can Get Killed Out There".

Another recent 1968 episode, "Another Final Exit," reunited Grace Lee Whitney (Yeoman Rand) with Paul Comi (Stiles).

Shocked that no one has mentioned "The Pagemaster" yet. Patrick Stewart, Leonard Nimoy, Whoopi Goldberg AND Christopher Lloyd all provided voices for animated characters in this film!

The very, very first episode of Star Trek (in everything but name only), Forbidden Planet, features Warren Stevens (Rojan / Doc Ostrow), George Wallace (Admiral Simons / Bosun), Morgan Jones (Colonel Nesvig / Nichols), and William Boyett (Lt. Bell / Crewman).

Don't forget, it also has Jeremy Roberts (Lt. Valtane) as a SWAT member who infiltrates Clark's house

God, this thread reminds me of one of the great frustrations of my TV casting career, when I wanted to get Jeri Ryan and Kate Mulgrew as the two guest leads of the same episode! They were both individually perfect for each role, their reps were into it for them, the showrunner loved it, and we actually had the money to afford them -- and then one of our idiotic network execs nixed it.

I wish I remembered his exact quote, as he confidently informed us all that it was ridiculous to imagine any Star Trek fans would seek out this episode, simply because it was a reunion of the Voyager leads.

There's a thread in the TOS forum where we spot TOS actors in other series, but it's restricted to TOS actors because it's, ya know, the TOS forum. :)

Not a show or movie, but listening to the "How Did This Get Made" podcast lately, I get a kick out of all three hosts being current Trek animation voice talent -- Jason Mantzoukas, Paul Scheer, and June Diane Raphael.

Chris Pine (Kirk) and Tom Hardy (Shinzon) were in a romantic comedy with Reese Witherspoon but I can't remember the name... This Is War or something?

"This Means War" One of my favorite openings to a movie review ever in the NYT write-up...

"The cute couple in the strained, largely mirthless romantic comedy “This Means War” sometimes walk and talk alike. And because this is something of a spy flick, the pair can execute a nice run-and-gun pas de deux. They’re awfully pretty these two, light on their feet and easy with the banter, but because they’re played by Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, and the age of mainstream-studio gay love has yet to dawn, Reese Witherspoon keeps getting in the way."

‪‪I think about this and smile fairly often. And knowing how much Paul, and similarly Tawny Newsome, love Trek adds an extra layer of enjoyment to watching Lower Decks for me.

Also, it makes me realize a whole lot of podcasts in addition to the official Trek podcast have had the voices of Mariner, Rutherford, and Dr. Migleemo, like Spontaneanation, as well as the hilarious short lived sitcom Bajillion Dollar Propertie$, which starred Tawny Newsome, Eugene Cordero, Paul F. Tompkins, as well as Dr. T’Ana herself, Gillian Vigman.

The episode "Executioner" of Brimstone had 6: Jeff Corey, series regulars John Glover and Lori Petty, Michelle Forbes, Robert Knepper and Scott Lawrence.

Any episode of BABYLON 5 that has Patricia Tallman (Lyta Alexander and multiple extra and stunt roles in various STAR TREK shows) and Walter Koenig (Bester and Chekov) in it. I know at least half a dozen where they play against each other.

I have a memory of watching Owd Bob with Colm Meaney and James Cromwell. It's a movie.
Adapted from the novel published in 1898. I saw this a while back when it was on the free Tubi streaming service (it might still be there).
