180 Degree Turnaround re: NuEnterpise (Review of Playmates ship)

The taper of the nacelles, their closer spacing and the taper under the hanger deck remind me of the same areas of the -E. There are also round devices on top of both ship's nacelles at both ends. It's like the Trek X Constitution class designers read Cochran's notes from seeing the -E through the telescope in "First Contact"! The Trek X ship has hemispherical bussards (like the Phoenix and NX-01) and has the longer edge of the shrouds on top (the -E is longer at the bottom edge).

The events in First Contact may have resulted in some nacelle technology and hull geometry being invented earlier. I wonder if this new time line will have the warp propulsion subspace damage problems that were discovered during the "...Next Generation".

I noticed details on the side of the secondary hull and the sides of the dorsal near where the refit had docking ports. The details on the dorsal are hexagonal instead of round. I don't see any sign of a docking port or gangway port on either side of the main hull or the aft edge of the bridge's deck.

There's a protrusion on the dorsal near where the refit had the photon torpedo room. The hexagonal "docking port" looks like it's on a higher deck though.

I believe one of the designers of the Enterprise-E worked on this film as well, John Eaves.

I didn't realize the docking ports were hexagonal. It's kind of cool that they are - similar to the pentagons on the Phase II design.

To fix the light/sound problems, do what I intend to do:
Rip out the electronics of the Art Asylum refit and put it into the nuEnt.

I suppose you could fill in any screwholes or rims, with some kind of putty, and then give the ship a custom paint job, if it bothers you, or wait for the model kits to come out.

Yes, he designed the shuttles.
