13-year old not allowed to fly American flag at school.

Our AK-47
Lord in Gunstores
Hallowed be thy bullets...

This American has the same worries.

If you're gonna do that, at least make it fit syllabically...

Our 'Deagle'
Which art in gun stores
Hallowed be they slugs

You guys can do better than that.

Our bullets,
Which art in handguns,
Hollow be thy points.
Our freedom come.
Our will be done,
In the courts, as it is in Congress.
Give us this day our daily lead,
And forgive us concealed-carry
As we forgive those
Who convert to full-auto.
And lead us not into registration,
But deliver us from liberals.
For ours is the freedom,
And the Second Amendment,
Now and forever,
Amen.

I'm partial to The Book of Armaments.

"And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, "O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy."

^

But I just hate hyperbolic catchphrases and "keep your hands off my guns" certainly qualifies as one.

So is, "Guns were DESIGNED to kill" in the context of the comparative deadliness of things.

I do agree about there being more dangerous things. But they have use outside the context of inflicting harm. At least that phrase is technically true. Guns are and were designed to kill.

Trust me, there are plenty of catchphrases on the other side that annoy me too. I don't hear many related to anti-gun crowds, but I think that's just a consequence of where I've lived.

And the Lord did grin, and the people did feast upon the lamb, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and breakfast cereals.

Well, if you want to get technical about it it's bullets, not guns, that were designed to kill. A gun never killed anyone that wasn't beaten to death by it. I guess when people go down the existential route when arguing against gun ownership, it comes across as a bit silly to me.

"Assault Weapon" and "High Powered Rifle" also come to mind.

As I pointed out, different weapons are designed for different things. And an Asnchutz 1903 for example is not designed to kill anything but paper targets.

And then its only certain bullets. FMJ are designed more to wound than kill, and there are specialty rounds designed to be non-lethal.

How popular of a gun is it? I enjoy target practice a lot (22 cal rifle, no idea what make and model), but it seems to not have much use outside of a target range.

Definitely fun, though. Really have to be calm and disciplined,

Please elaborate that section please, I'm not quite sure if I understood it properly. Do you mean that there are no such thing as assault weapons? If so, what would you call a high powered military style weapon?

With pleasure. You see, the term 'assault weapon' is completely contrived. Its essentially a combination of cosmetic features on a basic semi-auto rifle.
Aren’t all weapons “assault weapons” by definition? I’ve never heard of tickle weapons, hug weapons, or massage weapons.

Anschutz is probably the top name for target rifles. Expensive but worth it.

I've never been able to get into .22 rifles, I started with a 7.62x54R Mosin Nagant. So if it doesn't kick like a mule I can't stay interested. :rommie:

But hey, more power to you for the precision stuff. :techman:

Well, I was in the Boy Scouts. .22 cal is ideal for a 12 year old ;)

I remember trying to shoot black powder rifles (like Civil War era). Now that kicked like a motherfucker. If I hit anything, it was from dumb luck.

lol. I'm sure a lot of us on here can relate to that.

I came late to the game, got my first rifle at 16. Newest rifle I have was made in 1945. The oldest was 1917. Everyone has their own niche. Mine is Curios and Relics.

:bolian: Now do one for the Twenty-Third Psalm.

Let me introduce you to my good friend Oliver Queen.

I'd just wind up sounding like Jules from Pulp Fiction.

"Mr. Nine-Millimetre here
Is my motherfucking shepherd
My righteous ass shall not want..."

That's what I get for not having seen Pulp Fiction. :alienblush:

I'd like to once again take this opportunity to apologise for derailing this thread. But not all that sincerely since Goliath's in da house.
