According to imdb he was in 8 episodes over the course of 4 years.

its got to be more than that. Holby.tv (ive not heard of it before either) says he was in S12E1 - S13E18, so guess work leads me to 44 episodes, if you assume he appeared in everyone,, so lets say 40.

gets cast then presumably he will be refered to as "Staff Nurse",
as he would need a few more years of training before being a "Doctor"

Never heard of him to honest. He's the shortest odds, so there must be some legs to it you know. They wouldn't have him so short without someone sticking some money on him.

seems more likely than the Matt Smith I suggested, seems like he has worked with Billie Piper before, if i had seens Party Animals or I would have more of an opinon of him

well looking back at Holby.tv it seems he left to become a Doctor, since he left 9 years ago, im sure his Casualty character would be a Doctor by now.

Well I'd imagine he's in there because of the Moffat connection. Personally I wouldn't be unhappy at a Davenport Doctor, but it'd be a safe option.
