I'd be happy with Patterson Joseph or James (never going to happen) Nesbitt, though.
Wow! I'm so excited. I just stumbled upon the news when I went to the BBC Doctor Who page. I'm confident they've made a good choice but I really can't wait now... 
I think a woman would be fun to see, but I doubt it'll happen. For one thing, the montage of actors (and dialogue) in the last special seemed to make it clear that this is the life of "one man" and not just, say, "one alien."

first up a reminder of our Ten previous Doctors,then a chat with Elizabeth Sladen, about what it takes to be a good Doctor (she having work with most of them in the past) then our Ten Doctos will perform a group dance, and Billie Piper will sing her latest single just because she wants, cos she wants to.
Then after a break/lotto draw we talk to current Doctor David Tennant about the future of his Doctor, and hopefully some spoilers about the upcoming " Planet of the Dead" and ask him how he thinks the Tenth Doctor will die.
Then a word from Doctor Who fans on who they think will be the next Doctor.
Then finally with 2 minutes before the end of show, we will reveal who is the next Doctor.

ok who edited my post? because im pretty sure even I would not miss out the negative "not" when talking about a female Doctor.
Its times like this, when like the rest of you I wonder if there is something wrong with me, I often forget to add the negative.

Wow, wandue, I think this is a frighteningly accurate summary of how things will go. We've both obviously watched too much Saturday teatime BBC tv.
I really do not watch reality TV, gave up on it all about 3 years in, dont think ive ever seen a full episode of Strictly, my mother on the other hand loves it, even watches the BBC 2 extra show.

im sure as hell not giving them my money, these so called peak times are when something big is being talked about, and it can be talked about elsewhere, the rest of the time, their is nothing too important worth talking about, and even then between this place & Digital Spy, I can pretty say all I want on the internet, by the time OG opens up after an episode airs, ive written my review elsewhere and have for the most part got it out my system.
