Yep. The first time I saw it, it made me wish it had been a "Star Trek" horror movie. The 'Trek' universe is large enough to fit a few different genres into them.
The scene that always breaks me down is when they're watching the probe launch, and Kamin's wife and Batai come back to explain what is going on. It's very touching when Picard realizes what's going on.
The "I love Italian... And so do you" bit in TVH always cracks me up. Shatner and Nimoy play...

December 10, 2002 is when I really got into Star Trek. I'd always watched it here or there, but when Mom and Dad gave me the DVD of TWOK as an early Christmas gift, it sealed the deal for me.
I haven't seen "The Visitor," which I still desperately want to see. Nor have I seen most of the latter half of DS9. "The Visitor" is what sticks out for me, because I keep hearing it's brilliant. I've also never seen any of the supposedly GREAT "Voyager" episodes. Like "Living Witness" or...
Dad used to quiz me over who was who when I was a little kid. Even by the age of five, I knew the 'Red Shirt Curse,' so I usually mistook Scotty for a normal Red Shirt. After all, he didn't look like the Scotty from the movies!
As long as it's nothing GLARING, I don't care too much about canon. If it's fun to watch, that's all that matters to me. As many seasons as the franchise ran, a few mistakes here and there are bound to occur. They all fit together nicely enough, including TAS.
Doohan was pretty good, but always kind of recognizable, like when you hear Frank Welker's voice, even if he's playing an animal, you can tell it's Welker. Takei just sounded kinda silly whenever he played someone other than Sulu.
It would be pretty awesome for an online only trailer. Like if they released it to a fansite, JUST FOR the fans. Other people would probably just laugh.
I typically just watch a random episode I'd like to see. When I first bought the DVDs, I just watched them in Airdate Order, and I enjoyed it. If I were to show them to a friend now, I'd probably play them in Production Order, though.
The only episode I've never been able to watch without falling asleep no more than 30 minutes in is "The Immunity Syndrome." The only reason I know how it ends is due to watching the second half separately the following day.
