They Should Make One Trailer Using the "Amok Time" Fight Music

I think Abrams and Co. should make one trailer -- perhaps an on-line trailer only -- using the fight music from Amok Time (composed, I believe, by Gerald Fried.)

The trailer could feature the fight music, with its original arrangement of course, on top of a Mission Impossible/Battlestar Galactica-style quick-fire montage of action scenes from the film.

I think it could be both a good trailer and serve as a nod to the old show.

Oh...and I'm diggin' the new "fade page transition" on the forum

I will sooooo boycott this film if they don't play the Amok Time fight music in the next trailer!!!

Younger audiences who haven't watched FAMILY GUY will probably think they're watching an ad for a sequel to CABLE GUY.

I agree -- that's why I don't think it would work as a wide-release theatrical trailer. However it could work as one of several "niche trailers" that could be put up on the official movie website.

I am really hoping, seriouisly, that they work some of the classic music cues into the new film, including the fight music. I just have a hard time imagining how they could do it without it playing as a joke.

Oh, and I am seriously hating the page fade thing. I thought something was wrong with my computer.

Yes, because the title STAR TREK isn't enough of a nod to the old show.

It would be pretty awesome for an online only trailer. Like if they released it to a fansite, JUST FOR the fans. Other people would probably just laugh.

At the end of the credits, a quick picture of puppet Blaylock needs to flash, too.

I think you mean "Balok"

This is Balok, played by both a puppet and by Ron Howard's creepy-looking brother, Clint:

This is Blalock, who is NOT creepy looking, although some people say she acts as well as a puppet:

That might come off as parody. Put it on a website for fans...cool idea. But for the general public it might make it seem like a comedy.

If we get the fight music, which i doubt unless someone fanwanks a trailer with clips, i at least want a few shoddy stunt moments to shout...

NOT.KIRK.

NOT.SPOCK.

To my knowledge, Family Guy hasn't done anything with The Fight Music. Futurama, yes, and even Simpsons, but I can't think of any time when Family Guy did it. I know Family Guy once did a parody of Kirk and Spock's fight in Amok Time, but there was no Fight Music that I recall.
