Kilana2, there was a mod. He essentially let his friends operate with impunity. At one point later on, I confronted him about it publicly on the forum; that he had let this happen on his watch. After that I don't remember ever seeing him again, at least not with that screen name.
I also...
Yes, that is exactly where I thought you have been trying to go with this; and I want to nip it in the bud. There is no call to insinuate the OP really can't know what he or she is talking about and has no right to claim.
When I sought out the TrekBBS in 2000, the atmosphere here in the VOY...
Greg Cox, I think the OP wouldn't bother posting about "common complaints" made. What prompts the question is the bile and vitriol directed at the show.
The OP is not talking about "different expectations;" the OP has observed "hate" for the show here. The OP is correct, and hatred is uncalled for.
I have been watching Star Trek since September 1966, and VOY "seemed fresh and new and exciting" to me, too; so I don't think that's the issue.
I've been watching Star Trek since September 1966. VOY is my favorite modern Trek; TOS is my sentimental favorite. My list goes TOS > VOY > ENT > STNG > DS-9.

For a long time apparently, the Malons were very motivated to find wildcat dumps for their theta radiation; they probably found heaps of old wormholes and conduits.
Remember that one jerk who was afraid proper disposal would ruin his business had found a secret way in and out of the void that...
It was truly scary when vicious Mrs Templeton showed up in Janeway's quarters; that would have had me screaming. She needs to stay in the holonovel. Carolyn Seymour always impresses!
This is how I actually feel about this topic:
...while gritting out, "GIVE. ME. BACK. MY. SHIP."
For Janeway I think parenthood would be character-neutral. She could handle it either way. I do agree that it would depend on the writers and how much they wanted to focus on it. Kirsten Beyer...
I'm having a difficult time with this topic, because I'm kind of blinded by the regret Kate expressed in her TV spot with Bill Shatner about working so much when her son was small.
