    Suggest my new favorite book!

Harry Harrison's "The Stainless Steel Rat" series was a lot of fun to read--I think there were three of them. Also, what about Vonnegut? "Cat's Cradle", among his so many others, is a masterpiece. If you like short stories, then run--do not walk--to any of Harlan Ellison's collections...

    Obscure references?

What are the odds of Lou Gehrig actually contracting Lou Gehrigs disease? Must have been astronomical. And yet it happened. Weird.

What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

A fantastic, hearty, beef and barley stew that I made in my slow-cooker on Sunday--I had the leftovers tonight. I'll post the recipe here if anyone's interested, or just PM me for it.

40 years of "Monty Python's Flying Circus"

Palin as a toothpick chewing mafia-type thug to Army base Commander: "Nice army base you got here--be a shame if something were to....happen to it...." I've always loved the sheer silliness of a stupid, greasy gangster-type threatening a miltary base into paying protection money--idiotic genius.

    SGU....

I admit I fell asleep after the first 45 minutes or so. Isn't it almost the same premise as Voyager, just with Stargates thrown in for good measure?

UFO 'filmed for 40 minutes' by Chinese scientists during eclipse

A fake--and not even a very good one.

UFO 'filmed for 40 minutes' by Chinese scientists during eclipse

But that's not really true. I took pains to reference reports from Police officers and Military personel--as well as trained commercial pilots with simultaneous radar and ground-based confirmation of the sightings. There are many, many similar cases the world over. In court, is the testimony of...

UFO 'filmed for 40 minutes' by Chinese scientists during eclipse

Many people WOULD find it very disconcerting--perhaps the fundamental rationale behind the cover-up, if one exists. I'm more inclined to think that they WANT to be seen. They are not trying to contaminate our culture, so much as advance it forward towards a paradigm shift that would lead to...

UFO 'filmed for 40 minutes' by Chinese scientists during eclipse

Well, it's possible that life could be "seeded" on other worlds by advanced beings--or primitive, indigeonous life forms could be genetically altered so that they would eventually (or not so eventually) evolve into an intelligent species. It's possible that we, ourselves, could be the product...

UFO 'filmed for 40 minutes' by Chinese scientists during eclipse

I think that mathematically, there are "supposed" to be perhaps millions of planets in our galaxy alone that are capable of supporting life as we know it. The odds would seem to favor many, many other intelligent cultures out there--at least SOME of them should be more advanced than us.....
