After Star Trek 3 would you want an immediate reboot?

Hollywood seems to be rebooting or making spin offs of all their money making franchise. star wars, harry potter, batman, spiderman you name it. After star trek 3 in 2016 would you like to see the series rebooted immediately in the space of like 3-5 years?

I am mixed on this. I actually love this new cast and if TOS trek is rebooted again , it may be hard to accept the new actors playing this role over again so soon.

In a way, I feel it is coming, when star trek 3 is done. Paramount will reboot this series all over again. a new set of actors will play kirk, spock, mccoy, uhura, sulu and the rest of the characters.

only thing is most reboot to me in my personal opinion has been kind of medicore.:scream: amazing spiderman and superman: man of steel are great examples.

I might cringe a little bit if paramount makes new star trek films before the year 2020 based on the TOS Characters.

It is safe to say most fans may choose a brand new tv show in comparison to a new film trilogy based on TOS.

I would like to see a return to the prime reality. Preferably the 25th century or later.

As long as they make entertaining movies, it doesn't matter one way or the other to me.

I'm fine with it, though I think it would be silly to reboot so soon.

Without question, I think they should do the mother of all reboots and start anew with an all-new cast and another reimagined TOS Enterprise. No time travel, no alternate realities. Just have a totally new blank slate where it can all be rethought again from scratch.

I'm not big on the Abrams reboot, so yes, I'd like a new reboot as soon as possible.

Either that or continue with Pine and Quinto on the big screen but give us a TV reboot. Maybe an animated series which incorporates elements from the original series and the Abrams films but still does its own thing.

Please no reboots. To me, changing the actors every so often dilutes the integrity of the characters so that rather than seeing Kirk and Spock, I see actors trying to play the roles. I can somewhat live with Pine and Quinto, but it's still not the same as Shat and Nimoy.

There's no reason why the Trek movies would have to be rebooted after the third film. If this movie series is popular enough, more film could be made in the Abramsverse. Transformers Age of Extinction wasn't a reboot from the first three TF films. Why would ST4 need to be?

And anyway, I'd rather Trek returned to television after the third movie anyway. And as BillJ said, it doesn't matter what continuity it takes place in as long as it's interesting and well-made.

Because Star Trek takes place on a ship with one captain, if one of the actors doesn't want to be in a fourth movie then what?

I think they could find a way to maybe write out a single character without overhauling the franchise again.

Yeah, Transformers is apples and oranges. The CGI is the star of that franchise.

Don't hold your breath when it comes to hollywood. they do not care about writing a good story, all they care about is the cash.

I would not want a reboot soon as well based on TOS Characters.
