1960's cartoon. I just found some episodes on YouTube.

This cartoon used to be part of my usual TV-watching back then.

Why? He makes Aquaman look like a serious and useful superhero.

I like what they're doing here. They chose an appropriately obscure and ridiculous superhero for this kind of story, and it's going to manage to escalate his status quite significantly in a way that's (mostly) believable and entertaining.

It's about the best thing that could happen to this type of character, next to a show on late night Cartoon Network.

I am 99.99999 percent sure, based on the costume, the plot synopsis, and the fact it isn't produced by any affiliate of Warner Brothers, that the name is coincidence and this has absolutely nothing to do whatsoever with either Harvey Birdman, Esq., or the 1960s cartoon from Hanna Barbera.
