Still has that new thread smell!

So, who thinks "Daniel" is going to be Ted Kord?

I don't know enough about the comics to know how cool the character is, but Blue Beetle just sounds to weird....

Then again, a lot about Arrow could have been a lot cheasier then it turned out, so I'm willing to give everything a shot.

^

Things I'm really looking forward to: well, the show in general really. The whole team, where's the next big bad gonna come from, Ollie's time in Hong Kong, John Barrowman as a regular.

Things I'm not really looking forward to at all: Thea being "mentored" by Merlyn. Okay she's angry at Ollie and Roy, but going away with Merlyn was completely dumb and out of character. Which is sad because I really enjoyed Thea.

Things I distrust but am willing to warily consider: transforming Laurel into a new Canary.

Wait, so... there'll be spoiler-y discussion here, but once the season actually starts, it'll suddenly turn into a predominantly non-spoiler discussion thread for those just taking things one ep at a time?

I iz confused. :p

I'm excited. I get we're going to have ARGUS and Hong Kong as the focus of the flashbacks. I wonder if that means we'll get HIVE as the main thread in the present.

I remember once telling my wife that they would jump the shark when Ollie "escapes" the island and travels the world like Bruce Wayne and then somehow get stuck back on the island. If they did that, they could never come up with a good explanation for what we saw in "The Pilot". Sure it's fun when they explain every mystery on the show but it gets to point where you go WTF?! After the craziness of the Mirukuru, Slade/Deathstroke, Sarah Lance/Canary, I'm hoping they step back and focus more on the future than the past.
More likely they'll bring Shado back as some vengeful ghost who takes over Laurel's body. Sigh

That's one of the things I'm looking forward to the most. Merlyn full-time and Thea going through Batman training. Maybe she'll meet Ra's al Ghul and maybe he'll be played by Oded Fehr just like the rumors are suggesting.

It's the CW, so at 43, he's just the right age to play Nyssa's father. ;)

Hopefully they will give Thea more to do.

I don't know about Thea. I liked her character development in the beginning of season 2 but then she went of the deep end. The whole I hate and I'm going to have a tantrum because you lied to me made Thea look like a child. I think they should write her off because the writers can't decide whether to make her the most mature member of Team arrow or a 12 year old kid.

Ugh NO! Do we have to go through another redemption arc. Its second only to love triangles as the most used trope on CW.

If the writers want to be original, let Thea do what she originally planned and try to be a normal person.

Nah take Thea fully to the dark side. No redemption, no remorse, no trust. She becomes the ultimate villain on the show. She has a great evil look to her eyes at times.
I would really love to see Checkmate introduced here somehow.
Characters I need here, The Question, Rick Flag(friend of Diggle), Doctor Light, Punch & Jewelee.

What redemption arc? No one is talking about a redemption arc for Malcolm.

I wonder if Sarah will come back at all next season, she is still alive after all. I was honestly really shocked that both her and Laurel survived the whole season.

Season 1 was all about redemption for Oliver and season 2 was redemption for Sarah Lance. I don't want to see Thea turn evil and then see the error of her ways by the season finale.
