It would be one hell of a coincidence but it's the only way to explain how he could have been shot in X2. The bullet didn't bounce off. It went in, then his body spat it out. We saw that happen. I think they had him shot in Origins just to explain that scene in X2.

Seemed more to be the bullet impact his metal-plated skull and was lodged there due to the tissue on the skull. It wasn't "spat out" of his brain it was pushed out by the healing tissue on his skull.

Keep in mind in X2 they didn't know about the "hole" there. So why would they make it so that a regular bullet went through his impenetrable skull and then was "spat out" by the healing brain?

The skin covering the skull isn't thick enough for a bullet to get lodged anywhere.

No one had to know about the hole, the cop simply shot him and it just happened to hit the same spot where he was shot with the adamantium bullet in Origins. And because he had been shot with an adamantium bullet, there was no longer any plating there to protect him, so the bullet went into his brain.

Yeah, the bullet doesn't even go all the way in.

The holes in Logan's skull do not exist. You hear me? That crap never happened! :)

There's the scene. It looks to me like the bullet flattens itself under his skin but against his adamantium-laced skull. As the skin heals over, the flattened bullet is pushed out. YMVWD.

Yeah, that was my interpretation, the bullet wasn't in his skull it was pushed off his skull by the healing tissue.

The flattened bullet may, in reality, not be as thick as the tissue on your skull but there's a lot of maybes there. Particularly the thickness of the skin on Logan's skull.

But the clip makes it clear the bullet wasn't pushed OUT of his skull it was pushed FROM it.

Also, that cop is a terrible shot. You're supposed to shoot for center-mass not the head.

You're probably also not supposed to shoot a man in the head for making a noise and having knives retract into his arm.

Yeah, a little over-reactionary on the cop's part.

Also, Anna Paquin down-blouse.

Wahoo!

It does look like that, I'll admit. I suppose you could go either way.
But in X-Men Origins Wolverine he gets shot in the head after the adamantium process and doesn't get knocked out.

It's what always happens in sequels like these. Everything gets bigger, characters get more powerful.

If you want to justify it, in XMOW he was raging and all juiced up-angry. In X2 he wasn't. Differences in circumstances lead to different outcomes...just like in real life.

I think Logan passes out for a while after that midget guarding the\e M'krann Crystal punches him into orbit.

About that there ending: I assume Erik didn't take the helmet with him as he flew away because Xavier mind-told/didn't allow him to? Clarifying that might have detracted from the simplicity of a beautiful film moment, but it did give me a minor "huh?".

Also, now that the government's captured the helmet for a second time, where do you think they'll bury it now, assuming they either can't destroy it or want to keep it around for protection against a future telepath? Hangar 51, next to the Ark? :p

Finally saw this yesterday. Thought it was great. I'm not going to dig through pages and pages of posts to get all caught up on the reviews. All I'm going to say that I predicted they would use the time travel aspects of this movie to undo X3...AND I'M SO GLAD THEY DID!!! :D

Seriously, the last 5 minutes of this film made me giddy.

Well, it also undid X1+2, as well, are you glad about that?

Honestly, X3 wasn't even that bad. I doubt Singer himself would have done any better given how hyped up it had become by then.

Days of Future Past clearly did not erase the first movie as Rogue still has the white stripe in her hair thus indicating she spent time in Magneto's machine.

For that matter, I don't believe the third movie was completely erased either, just the ending of the event changed. In my opinion the only movie that was completely erased by the new movie X2. Even X Men Origins Wolverine hasn't been completely erased, as all the pre 1973 stuff would still stand.

I had erased XMO:W before DoFP. I'm comfortable for that to stand either way. ;P

And none of the movies was perfect. X3 had its good moments - I love Beast and the team dynamic at the end that's been far too absent in every other movie so far.

I'm still not clear how DoFP turns Moira Scottish though...
