I love Sheriff Mills. I wish the spinoff was about her, with or without Alex. I thought this was a good episode-- very personal and powerful for the sheriff.
Wow. That was.........fucking horrible.

Someone told me that this (the episode) is what most CW shows are like. If that's true, then good lawd.
It doesn't always work out that way, sadly. The Lone Gunmen was made by the same people as The X Files. Caprica had many of the same writers (along with star talent) as BSG. To be fair, this being a BDP, they'll have plenty of time to work out the crater sized kinks (assuming they haven’t already filmed the pilot).Backdoor pilot, huh? *locks back door*Wow. But wont that show be from the same writers? If so it has to be good and hopefully funny.
Supernatural lucked out with fantastic casting. But wont that show be from the same writers? If so it has to be good and hopefully funny.
All right, I just watched it and good grief, that was awful. Their choice for a lead, his "origin story," the whole Chicago set-up, and the "mystery" about his father was just... ugh.
What's really confounding is that they've had at least, what, half a dozen other potential stories to draw from for a spin-off already. The one that I was sure they were going to go with was the rebuilding of the Men of Letters, maybe even merging them with the other groups they've introduced like the Jewish one with the golem and working in Dorothy and etc.
What a wasted opportunity that'll be.
The Men of Letters, the Golem, and Oz were my top choices for a spinoff. Sheriff Mills would have been cool, too. A show that includes all of the above would really rock. What's really confounding is that they've had at least, what, half a dozen other potential stories to draw from for a spin-off already.
