Will we see the V'ger and Whale Probes in a future Trek movie?

This may be a little difficult to grasp but hang on....Good luck!.

Although the timeline has changed in the new Trek movies there is a constant that cannot be avoided which is based on various time travel theories.

Now since Nero came through the wormhole and destroyed Vulcan after Khan came into power means that history had not been changed up to the point where Khan nearly becomes the ruler of Earth which lead to the events in the newest Trek.

The events surrounding the V'ger (Voyager) Probe and the Whale Probe would also still be present because both of the events that created these two events further along the time line occurred long before Nero showed up and changed the past. In fact both events which would be the launching of the Voyage Probe by NASA and its disappearance and the extinction of Humpbacked People occurred long before Khan came into power. With that in mind based upon time travel laws the V'ger Probe should be making its way through space enroute to Earth looking for the Creator as well as the Whale Probe making its way to Earth to question the disappearance of the humpbacked people. Both should make for very interesting movies to then branch the movies off into a new timeline.

Even if V'Ger and the Whale Probe are on course for Earth (which they should be), neither will arrive for several years given that each should be traveling at more or less the same speed in the new timeline. The current films aren't likely to cover enough time to include either of them, and it's about time the writers came up with an original story idea.

It's a very good question but I dont believe any new movie will tackle those (Which of course means Earth is screwed without Shatner's Kirk).

The V'Ger issue was covered in the comic tie-in to Star Trek '09 and will most likely never be touched on again. Same with the Whale probe.

The great thing about this AU and how it's set up, is that they can pick from what came before or invent something new. But instead of V'ger or the Whale Probe (one can always say a bizarre knock-on butterfly effect from ST'09 turned them away), I'd rather see this Trek deal with the Doomsday Machine and reimagined Borg (who, by some similar bizarre knock-on butterfly effect, have been alerted to us early). Possibly at the same time, using Peter David's novelverse explanation that the former was created to fight the latter.

The general public would know about there being whales on STAR TREK, wouldn't they? Wow ... yeah ... you know what? I would not be at all surprised to see whales making an appearance. And with the benefit of CGI, maybe we'll even get to see the whales smile when they $ave the day. Spock and Uhura can make it possible for real time communication betwixt the whales and everybody else, now, so maybe we'll even see George and Gracie join STARFLEET? At the end of the movie, we'll see them splishing in a tank on the ENTERPRISE, marvelling over such things as transparent alluminum ...

Maybe in this new timeline, they may have already been intercepted and dealt with (and perhaps by ships other than the Enterprise).

It can be avoided because everything is made up anyway, just don't have V'ger show up, problem solved.
I realize that doesn't make continuity obsessed people happy but events of the the old show and movies simply don't matter that much, they reused Kahn because he was a memorable and popular character, they won't reuse the angsty cloud looking for its daddy because nobody really cares, even your reasoning is just "it has to happen" and not "Damn, that V'ger was awesome".

PrimeSpock formed an elite team, Section 32, consisting of himself, Data's head, and Guinan, and they go around taking care of things that might turn out differently because of Nero's incursion. They've already neutralized the Doomsday Machine, V'Ger, and the Whale Probe.

When the Whale Probe comes, the skies are raging with storms and the oceans being vapourized, Old Spock will stand on the beach in San Francisco bay with his iPod and play whalesong until it goes away.

:lol:I would read the hell out of this, if someone wrote it.
