I can't even remember how to read music.
It's been over a decade since I last looked at a musical staff in anger. I used to know the arrangements of key signatures and repeats and even the differences between treble, alto, tenor and bass clefs like the back of my hand. It does come back to me, though - not just the technical knowledge of music theory, but all those associated memories of music lessons, exercises, orchestra rehearsals, the music we used to play and the teachers, conductors, chorus masters and fellow players I used to play with. Music memory is a powerful thing.I can't even remember how to read music.
Really? I was worried about my ability to read music after not looking at any for a good 8 years, but I found that it instantly came back to me, and my fingers just knew where to go. Have you tried recently? -- and I don't mean that as a sarky question, just curious.
