I am so glad Usher and Shakira are back. Don't get me wrong, I'll miss the wacky antics of Cee-Lo, but any season without Christina is a plus.

I'm also enjoying the opening of them singing each others songs.

I like Usher's approach to coaching. I think I prefer him to Cee-Lo just because, as cool as Cee-Lo is, he's bad at the game. He keeps picking these performy gimmicky 80s songs for people because he thinks it'll be cool and not because it's best for the singer's style or likely to get votes.

I think they're trying to set Christina Grimmie up to win this season. They posted her blind audition last week and it's already over a million views.

I'm amazed how much better Jake Worthington is compared to last year.

They posted her audition because of "Team Grimmie", the million youtube viewers who support her and love to hear her sing. They help to hype up the current season and bring in much needed viewers.

As for winning the voice? I kinda doubt it. She's good and I've been listening to her for years, but neither of her two albums did well to even place in the top 100 charts. And for some reason she sounded really nasal in the studio. Chances are she's going to end up like Judith Hill, all hyped up as the person to beat only to crash out mid-way through the competition.

Well if Grimmie makes the live rounds, that's a massive voting base for her.

If NBC is putting effort into promoting Grimmie, I'm guessing she had the live rounds.

Or, we'll know for sure when we see whether or not they montage her knockout round.

With Judith Hill, they kept pounding OVER and OVER about her Michael Jackson connection -- i bet that turned off a lot of people. I really think she could have won, but pleased that a Chinese-Jamaican won.

The Voice has been waaaay more diverse so far than American Idol, and the judges are having a lot of fun so far.

Idol needs to take some notes in order to survive and even thrive again.

The producers have already put her up front and center in the first episode of the season. Of course they are going to hype the fact that she's a youtube sensation with 75 million views in just a single video. That's more views than many recording artists have in all their combined videos.

That hype from the producers, combined with her choice of Adam Levine (I'm still disappointed he dropped Amy Whitcomb lol) as her coach means she doesn't much of a chance at winning.

I am also glad to have a season where we don't have to listen to Christina. I read an article a few days ago that said CeeLo would not be returning to the show. That makes me kind of sad. My preferred judges would be Adam, CeeLo, Shakira, and Blake (though I'm getting a bit tired of him and ready for someone new in that seat).

Lots of good performances so far. I don't bother remembering people's names at this point because who knows whether they will even make it past the battle or knockout rounds. But it seems like it will be a good season.

Episode two seemed to consist solely of people who will get eliminated before the live shows.

I'm in love with Ddendyl Hoyt's voice. She's the girl who sang Stand By Me.

I didn't think her performance of Counting Stars was that terrible. Certainly not the best it could be, but I do think that she won the battle against Ddendyl. I liked Ddendyl's voice a lot but she did not do well with that song.

I was a little disappointed that Biff Gore wasn't stolen. I feel like he did very well, even up against an amazing singer like Sisaundra.

I think The Voice is the final nail in American Idols coffin. The folks being cut from The Voice are far in a way BETTER than the final 10 on this seasons Idol!

It seems I may be wrong, Christina Grimmie might have the competition sewn up. On youtube, she has 4 times as many views than any other competitor. On iTunes charts, her Voice songs are approaching the 100th rank while the next nearest competitor is at 200th.

Yeah, I do think it's kind of unfair to include somebody who already has a seven figure fanbase.

And I do think her performance was excellent, but not that much better than Kat's. I think the producers are setting her up to steamroll because they see her as the most marketable. Did Christina actually go last or did they just move her performance to last to make her stand out the most?

If Christina just starts easily winning every voting round I may just stop watching. It's no fun when you can tell the competition is fixed, even if it always is and is just usually less obvious.

She wasn't the first person to sing at the auditions but the producers showed her as first on stage. Its likely she didn't go last in the playoffs but was shown as going last, for dramatic reasons.

    36. Christina Grimmie - I Won’t Give Up (The Voice Performance)
    113. Kat Perkins - Open Arms (The Voice Performance)
    145. Dani Moz - The Edge of Glory (The Voice Performance)
    155. Tess Boyer - Human (The Voice Performance)

Out of the top 200 on iTunes, these are the playoff songs and their current ranking as of a few hours ago. Kat might still have a chance.

Christina Grimmie's not ahead in the downloads!

    Josh Kaufman: #5
    Kristen Merlin: #32
    Jake Worthington: #46
    Christina Grimmie: #51
    Kat Perkins: #109
    Sisaundra Lewis: #116
    Audra McLaughlin: #125
    Delvin Choice: #138
    Bria Kelly: #149
    Tess Boyer: #198

Mind you I have nothing against Christina, I think she's one of the better singers in the competition. I'm just rooting against her because I don't want NBC to get their way.

This week Grimmie did get the highest selling song *sigh*. Congratulations NBC, your fix was successful. You have your pre-marketed winner with the built in audience.

I was looking at Wikipedia to see who was eliminated this week because I wasn't following this week and I noticed that apparently, Pharell Williams and Gwen Stefani are coaching next season.
