now why in the world would he be motivated to say something as terrible as that?

no one doubts that we are getting an incomplete picture with third-hand information! but you seem to be going to great lengths of trouble to paint many different people as boogeymen not to be trusted! one just has to wonder...

He saw me at a convention, talking with someone, and just came up to tell me that I ripped off a friend of his, and if I didn't leave the convention right then, he would stab me in the heart with his pen. I walked away and notified security, and when they talked with him, he claimed that it was me who threatened him, even though he still had the gold pen in his shirt pocket. That was in 1995, and the guy was totally demented, still is, judging from his internet attacks on me. I have not sold anything since the early 1990s, and there are still people claiming that I ripped them off LAST year! Where do these people all come from? From boards like this link shows you! Everyone wants a piece of the action, and flame wars still continue, just in a new format.

Someone recently said that I sound really angry about this whole situation. Now you are getting somewhat of a clear picture what I have had to deal with.

Which all started with this video!

Maybe I missed some things because I haven't completely read all of your posts, but I'm curious about a couple of things:

You have a video of fans who broke into the DS9 sets? Did you take part in that shoot as well? Not judging one way or the other, just asking.

Also, just curious, since you've lost your love for Trek through many of these experiences, why did you want to come on this board and share so many details about this stuff?

As far as legal concerns (copyright and beyond) in situations like this, I think this article may be worth checking out:

I've not had this much fun since my neighbours decided to launder their soiled underwear in the middle of our road.

Now I know why people become priests.

To be fair. You actually "crawled under the rock" by coming here to air your side (which, BTW, I have found totally rivetting). It's like me complaining about meeting a load of Doctor Who fans on Gallifrey Base.

No, I had not gone back to paramount since I had left working on STTNG. I had nothing to do with the DS9 video, just one of the guys thought that I should see what they did!

I just came here to clear the air about a lot of misinformation about me, like the above links show, making me look like I'm ripping off TREK fans, which I never did.

Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

And, to be fair to Ralph, he was a friend of mine, and we had good times and bad times, as with any relationship, a spouse, a friend, or even an enemy! These are all a part of life, and have to be viewed in their different contexts.

You may have had good intentions, but you've done more harm than good. I never knew who you were. I saw the video and didn't think anything of it. Then you appeared here and every story you tell seems to involve some sort of shady dealing and I'm not the only one to notice that. At this point nothing positive can come out of this.

I find it difficult to disagree with this assessment.

Well, Neil, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, no matter how far offbase it may be!

Also, I wanted to say, that if you look at the pictures of that Ebay auction on "Originalprops" site, you will see that there is NO way that anyone could consider those items to be original screen used items. Add to that the fact that NOWHERE did they come with any paperwork from me, which I always provided on any of my dealings. THAT, in itself, shows you that there was something seriously amiss with that auction.

Yes, dealing with props, and other movie items is a very shady business, and everyone you have to deal with, it's almost like a drug deal! Even Greg Jein has been accused of stealing the items that he has, and one time, the LAPD, with search warrants, went to his shop, and insisted on looking in his storage units, which he had 8 of them, at that time. They found nothing of interest, but Greg co-operated with their investigation 100%, and wasn't charged with anything. It's just the nature of the business, people making all sorts of claims against anyone that they just don't like, and unfortunately, sometimes the police take these claims seriously.

For crying out loud, Majel told a Detective at the LAPD that she had been at my apartment many times, and had seen MANY stolen items!!! I could not believe that one! MAJEL!!! What the hell would she ever be doing at my home? It's just not to be believed, but the detective did believe her, because of who she was!

    Amazing!

Oh I totally disagree. This is the thread that lured me to register and start posting. I've got my popcorn and would very much like this thread to continue.

    Seconded.

Had this thread not cropped up, I wouldn't known any of the side stories in this stuff or the claims that were being made. I would've watched the vid, rolled my eyes, and went on to something else. As it is, I'm not getting a very good impression of the people involved in the video..

Nice, totally disregard everything that I say, and just go for the jugular!

Seems as if some people want this thread to be deleted, or closed.

I find it difficult to disagree with that assessment, so I have asked the mods to give you people what you want.

this is interesting and rather revealing! why are you involved in any dealings in the first place?
are low-level tech workers entitled to take things home in order to sell them? is that a "perk" of working on the show?
by your account you are an honest guy who everyone loves to hate on and make lies about, you just innocently take things out of the dumpster....or...

Crap, I don't think this one is going to get any better since so many holy rollers need to impugn treknician1701's integrity. He ain't running for Saint of the month, just trying to tell an interesting story.
