Chekov FORESKIN

I am dying here.. :guffaw:

Yeah the still do them, but they transport it off in utero so NO ONE knows what they look like any more. Which I personally think is a good thing. I've never seen an adult one and I hope I never will.

Ewwww. I'd rather think they'd completely done away with the practice by the all-humans-are-atheist Roddenberry future.

Me too. I would never circ a baby. But as we know Star Trek is American and they are quite into lopping it off there and in the future they might find a way to do it more humanely or at least more invisibly and it might become the norm for the entire planet because, America.

Sorry for the serious answer here.

No-one has it done around here anymore.

My in-laws had to search around for someone to do it to their son and it wasn't allowed to be in the hospital where he was born.

It might be going the way of women's circumcisions.

We should have seen an episode where unenlightened non humans had a baby on a Federation starship and wanted the doc on board a bit of skin off the baby's head because that is what their culture expected and the doc refused because it was barbaric. AND THEN THE BABY DIED. Or something equally heavy handed and dumb.

LOL, so, I'm not the only one who kept seeing this alternate thread title when seeing a new post in Teacake's thread

I don't remember the discomfort of having it done as a baby, and I have plenty of sensitivity (If it causes a result of reduced pleasure, I sure haven't noticed it), so, I'm glad it was done to me as a newborn, I'd hate to imagine having to get it done as an adult when I was old enough to make the decision, and I wouldn't want my dangling parts untrimmed.

Beaming it off, would of course be better for the little tykes though.

I love the randomness of some of the threads here!

Nah, a phaser on a narrow beam and low setting would do the trick . A dermal regenerator would see it healed in no time, wish I'd had one when I had mine done not the most pleasant experience I've gone through.

I'll pile on with another serious answer. Circumcisions are relatively rare in Russia and are sought mainly by specific religious and/or ethnic groups (like Russian Jews). Assuming he's just a garden-variety Russian, it'd be unlikely in the extreme that he'd be cut.

a garden-variety Russian
I've found, through a lot of trial-and-error, that lots of water and sunshine is the best way to grow a good crop of Russians in the spring time. Photosynthesis, that's the key thing to remember. You see, they don't get a lot of sun back home...

Actually I don't want either of those things it is Christmas morning here I want DAVID HEWLETT thank you very much don't bother wrapping him, or do I can unwrap and I expect this TODAY.

Outside of religious groups (and we're a pretty secular society) it's thankfully very unusual in the U.K. - hopefully it'll die out completely in the future.

I am happy I was circumcised according to my family's [and my] faith. I don't miss it one small bit. Sex has always been very pleasurable and I remain clean and disease-free... thank you very much.

You may now return to your various soap boxes.
