What if Garrett Wang had left Voyager instead of Jennifer Lien?

I actually agree with you, Greg. It'd be like doing a version of Doctor Who and not regenerating the Doctor. Waste of a concept.

Having said that, I don't think they'd have done it at all if Farrell wasn't making noises about wanting to leave.

Yeah. Jadzia's my favorite DS9 character, but if she wanted to leave, the storytelling opprotunity is just too good not to have a new Dax.

I still don't know why Dukat killed her.

In his crazy mind Jadzia was his buddy.

He didn't need the time she'd lose him by calling security, and she didn't have the power to stop him.

Maybe the Paghwraith inside him had something against her?

He was on bath salts, basically. I never thought he personally killed her, as in wanted Jadzia dead.

I've tried but beating a dead nearly decade old horse has become annoying. Even tolerance has it's limits.

    It's not hard.
It's called being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

It also took sooooooooooooooooo long. Dukat was using magic superpowers to strangle her with the strength of a normal Cardassian.

    The man had no game.

This is what I would have done.

Paughwraith ray blasts age Jadzia to dust, as the baby inside her explosively grows up instantly into a 40 year old woman, and then with one hand she stuffs the symbiont inside her and the other she punches Dukut in the nards.

I like the imagery, especially if the Symbiont "bounces" when it hits the ground before the kid catches it...

But if the kid is a blank slate, that means that the former hosts have equal rights to fight for control of the body, which could make for some very interesting stories.

There was a DS9 time travel novel, the clock kept winding back after everyone died, Jadzia died, or she was brian dead, but the Symbiont got really pissy and tried to take control, and it was like watching a drunk lady at last call trying to frakk the jukebox, but she had vengeance on her mind... Oh, like that Vorta form the magnificent Ferengi when they had him on remote control.

    Yeah, that's the ticket.

There was no real baby, there was just a nice little chat with Dr. Julian promising that someday, there might be.

    Curses!

You know, even after she had died, considering the standing on their heads they had to do to make their baby, which you just reminded me didn't happen, Worf could have still made a child with Jadzia if he just had a small genetic sample from her.

There is probably no honour in that.. OH WAIT. Kahless.

But Worf sucks as a single dad so maybe not a good idea.

Worf did suck as a single parent and even when he was little, you could just tell Alexander was a little asshole. O'Brien's kid Molly always seemed Mentally Challenged to me ... Jake Sisko was a dork who's best and only friend was Nog, of all people ... STAR TREK kids just can't seem to ever win, can they? But Jadzia Dax is excellent breeding stock, indeed ...

I stand corrected - was - yes ... but, it's just as well, really. By Dax's own admission, she never was successful at parenting.

I wish I could be a joined Trill. When I first saw DS9 a gazillion years ago I thought the idea was horrifying. Have an entire other being in your head, and all the history that being had with other people.. what a freaking invasion. Colonization.

But now I think it would just far too interesting to pass up the chance of experiencing. I've had enough years as just me, give me a bunch of other people too. Also apparently you become super achievement oriented and you accomplish all kinds of stuff and you are full of ambition. This would be a total novelty for me, and I wouldn't even have to goad myself into doing any of it, I'd be full of Trill go juice.

Go back a couple years still.

    Riker and Beverly boning.

There's plenty of horror to go 'round.

"Disgusting" was witnessing Odo and Kira making out. How do Shape-Shifters ... "do it"? Their sexual urges and responses can't be at all similiar to ours. Unless, of course, Bajorans are more alien than I give them credit for and experience sex quite differently. In either case, surely, Odo must be faking his orgasms ... is that what Kira really wants?

Romantic love comes from the imagination.

So does most everything else if you break it down back far enough.

Shapeshifters seem to experience being something else quite intensely, especially with practice. I would not be surprised if Odo didn't shape himself into Bajoran nerves etc.. and have feelings akin to what the Bajorans do.

As to what Kira really wants, well it's kind of obvious.
