"Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film!

Re: "Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film

"Starship Studios"...is that the same group that is hoping to put out the "Ajax" production?

Gotta love those retro 80s costumes ;)

Hahah, oh man that looks so great!

I find the vibrant TOS bridge colors to be competing with the muted pastels in the costumes, are you guys considering color grading it down a bit?

The colours and lighting will be tweaked a little, but in the actual film, the costumes don't look washed out. The above photo just registered that way with the tan shirts.

The look is excellent. Nice to see you in action one more time, Captain Atkin!

Yeah, those stills don't look like it'll be a problem, looking great!

Re: "Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film

Between the trailers and the precious few set pictures offered here and on various Facebook sites, I can sorta piece together some of the plot points from your film, meaning, what happens to a few of the characters. I'd love a few more spoilers, but guess we'll all have to wait.

And thanks for the lady Andorian!! Ha, too bad for you, Axanar, Captain Atkin wins my points!! :)

Happy your shoot went well John. Excited to see the final product. This is truly a remarkable effort.

I can't help the irony that this 30 year old fan film is going to get finished and released before Exeter. You should be commended for your efforts John!

Classy, Alec. Real classy.

Coming from an Internet troll who I doubt understands class.

The Exeter situation has been explained in exhaustive detail to you on numerous occasions, Alec, here and on Facebook. That you choose to ignore it is rather telling of your intentions when you make comments such as the one I've quoted above.

On the off chance that you still can't differentiate those explanations from alleged "attacks," the entire situation is also documented by several parties in the Exeter thread on this very board. I'd link to it but I've done it so many times already when you swoop in with these little digs that I know you know where that thread is.

That you continually ignore these explanations in favor of this kind of casual, drive-by potshots is telling, and incredibly audacious given that we have yet to see a single frame of produced footage from Axanar yet.

Lastly, this is the fourth time since you and I have interacted here either as your "Linnear" identity or as "Loken" on this BBS you have called me a troll (and not including your oh so clever attempts to do so without directly naming me, like in the Horizon thread just now).

Newsflash, genius: It's also against the rules here and you know this. Enjoy the infraction.

Hey Atkin. Nice photos. I look forward to seeing screen caps of the footage after color correction, grading and grain has been added to match the Super 8 look.

And to others: can we kindly leave Exeter outside this topic? I think we're all here to discuss Yorktown.

“You damned kids! Don’t make me turn this car around!”

I think Locutus of Bored probably said it best: accusing someone of being a "troll" while not specifically referred to in the board’s rules, does have a long and consistent history of being admonished and sometimes even infracted. This is one of those times. It also fits under the board’s “flaming” rule to an extent.

Loken, sometimes you say things—not just on this board, but in other forums—and I become embarrassed. My embarrassment stems from my concern that others might think that your comments are reflective of the Star Trek Phase II production team, cast, and crew in general or, more specifically, of me in particular.

I think that between James Cawley, David Gerrold, Gary Evans, and myself, the Phase II Executive Producers have tried to set a professional tone in public—“the high road,” if you will. Often, your comments seem to be, well, the exact opposite of that. Apart from my responsibilities as a Moderator here on this board, my preference is that you tow the Phase II line a bit better instead of going rogue.

If nothing else, my sense is (well, the PMs I get on this issue say so explicitly) that your comments are polluting the Fan Productions forum. (The PMs I get actually use the word poisoning.)

I can't help the irony that this 30 year old fan film is going to get finished and released before Exeter.

If it wasn't for Starship Exeter, we would never have been able to get all those bridge scenes shot for Yorktown this year. We are forever in debt to the Exeter team for designing that beautiful bridge, and to the team at Starbase Studios who graciously allowed us to film on it last weekend.

Re: "Yorktown: A Time to Heal" - Official thread for the Sulu fan film

AH, from all the small video screens I can see why the set's custom Weapons & Defense station graphics are gone.
