Well, we don't yet know if Dean will tell Cass or not. Hopefully he will, since there's no reason not to. And there's no reason that Dean can't set him up in a nice hotel or something so he doesn't have to be walking the streets. Although I did like mortal Cass learning the ropes of being Human. I hope they are evolving the character to be a little less dopey. Cass's naivete is endearing, but after being around five or more years, it starts to look like he's developmentally disabled-- especially since no other Angel has ever exhibited that level of naivete.

that's a good point he has experienced a lot of humanity by now. his naivety came from his unquestioning faith in God and their rightness initially. It would be nice to see a LOT more naive angels like Cass now rather than all the corrupt bastards... then again after three seasons of angel civil war would anyone still be an innocent anymore?

Tonights episode with Dorothy and the Wicked Witch was, well interesting. But seeing the preview for next weeks episode with Dean mind melding with a dam dog, im thinking the writers have run out of ideas and just throwing crap at the wall and see what sticks.

The season so far been up and down, but thinks its past it expire date sadly.

Oh did they ever say how Dorothy got brought back from the dead while in OZ? When she said she died there, you would think Charlie would ask, how did you come back to life.

Without Charlie now, this show just feels warn. I really miss Bobby. Show just doesn't seem to work for me since he is gone and Cas is never there much.

Tonight's episode was so fun - Charlie makes everything better.

Yeah, episodes with Charlie are always good for some goofy fun. I liked how they took the idea of Sam and Dean's adventures being "fictionalized" in a series of novels and did the same with L. Frank Baum's Oz novels. Next week's episode looks...interesting. I'm sure there's more to it than what the promo showed, but right now it does kinda come off as scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas.

It was refreshing to see Charlie again. Now she embarks on an adventure with Dorothy in Oz.

My only nitpick is, if the gang tried to prevent the witch from getting all her minions from Oz into our world, why did Dorothy and Charlie cross that realm knowing full well of the dangers that might await them?

Crowley hasn't had much of a major role lately, and I hope that changes. I would like to see more of Kevin.

    "Sorry about the nards, Dean."

I was admittedly apprehensive about the whole Oz thing last week, but the show had me eating my words.

The b&w flashbacks that opened and intercut the episode were very well done; seeing Haggerty and Jenkins firing up the MoL headquarters was cool. Baum being a Man of Letters, "Frank's girl" Dorothy being a hunter (I always love the disdain that MoL have for hunters), and Haggarty's commitment to killing the witch long after he lost his partner and Dorothy -- all great stuff. The green eyes when Jenkins got whammied was striking in the b&w footage.

Also striking was the exceptional CGI work for the small glimpses of Oz that were featured. The visual effects people really cut loose on those few moments.

As per usual, the Charlie and Crowley characters were handled brilliantly. Every time these two are respectively featured in an episode, it leaves you wanting more with them. I'm hoping that a tornado deposits Charlie back on Earth before the end of the season -- one episode a year isn't nearly enough Felicia Day for me.

The Zeke cameo reinforced Cas's assessment that Ezekiel really is one of the good guys. His comment to Dean about how they BOTH don't want him in Sam's body more than necessary seemed genuine to me.

This episode is easily the best so far this season.

I'll reserve judgment on Dean barking at a mailman until I watch next week's episode in full...

Well Dorothy was there before and was fighting for Oz so she simply resumed her journey and Charlie accompanied her. I would assume that while there is danger in Oz much like how they were able to use poppy from Oz to make bullets to hurt the witch that there are magical counters available if you're in Oz for magical dangers you face there.

If those things all crossed over to the regular world they would be more dangerous because of the things needed to counter them left behind in Oz.

That as one of the better episodes. I hope we see a return to Oz sometime.

I think what I really loved about the episode is the obvious affection that Dean has for Charlie. It's really sweet. The panic on his face when she "died" was pretty brutal.

Yeah, I loved it when he told Zeke to save her. :)

This was a really great episode. I suppose it's too much to hope for that this is the backdoor pilot and that we'll see a Charlie and Dorothy in Oz series next year. That would be fantastic.

Pretty much everything about this story was great. Charlie was in it, we learned more about the bunker, we had B&W flashbacks, we had a cool new character, we had a peek at another dimension. This will go down as one of my all-time favorite episodes. :bolian:

My problem with this episode, and it's a nitpick, is that L. Frank Baum never had a daughter in real life named Dorothy. He had four sons. He did have a niece named Dorothy who died in infancy which is where people think he got the name for the character. Kind of wish the writers made the Dorothy character his niece.

Eliot Ness probably didn't hunt vampires, either, but there you go.

I've noticed one or two such deviations from reality in this show. Their research department is a little lax. For example, the Land of Oz doesn't really exist.

I've never seen The Wizard of Oz, believe it or not. I think pop culture has ensured that I know all the beats of the plot and much of the imagery but I've never actually seen the film itself. I need to rectify that sometime...

The only thing that really bothered me is that she actually had ruby slippers, rather than silver ones.
