I can also add, Fives brainy specs floating behind Eleven near the end along with several loose segments of the Key to Time. Can anyone ID the gold object in the lower left corner? I thought it was a Sycorax mask, but theres not enough detail.
I like the new theme tune in the trailer. I wonder if they'll use that in the 50th, or even permanently. Better than the two Moffat themes.
That was great, have to watch it multiple times to spot everything (and still think I've missed loads!) LOVE the theme! And when Sarah Jane showed up
Peter Davison and Paul McGann are supposed to have done some voiceover work on that trailer, but I honestly couldn't hear them at all. Bit of a let-down really.
They can be heard, along with Billie. Davison echoes 'my lives' at 0'11 mcGann echoes 'Years' to Matt's 900 years. at 0'21. Billie (and Dalek) at 0'34
I thought the new trailer was really lame. It's just an After Effects cluster fuck with a bog standard cheesy NuWho "epic speech" voice over. Give us a trailer with actual scenes from the story or GTFO!!!!
io9 has posted a closer look at the trailer and points out some of the harder to catch references. I caught most of these but I'm embarssed about missing the Polyphase Avatron reference. I recognized it but for the life of me I couldn't place it.
"I fought for peace in a universe at war. No more." There's a good analysis here: http://www.combom.co.uk/2013/10/doctor-who-50th-anniversary-celebratory_20.html
Can anyone identify the man with his back to us immediately in front of the Eleventh Doctor? Could it be John Hurt?
That's what I was wondering about earlier, next to the assembled Key To Time. I didn't recognize it at all
I'm personally glad we don't know more. We already know John Hurt is in it as a shamed and dis-acknowledged Doctor, probably from the Time War's nastiest period. We know there's Zygons and Daleks in it. We know Kate Stewart is in it, as is Rose, 10, 11 and Clara. I'm just not understanding not only the desire to know even more, but, actual outrage expressed by not being fed even more.
This must have passed me by but 'Doctor Who TV' have mentioned that actor Ankur Sengupta has listed on his CV two roles; one a UNIT solider, and the other an Arcadian refugee in the 50th. So are we going to see the "Fall of Arcadia" on the 23rd?
This. It was a lovely reminder of how good the last 50 years have been and what it is we're celebrating. An appetite-whetter.
