No Radiation Suits In The 23rd Century?

I'm stunned the Federation didn't continue research on the Genesis device. Done properly it is literally a miracle device.

Or a frightful weapon.

Transwarp beam one of those puppies onto each of the Klingon worlds and you have a bunch of newly habitable colony worlds.
They could make it so it only worked on lifeless planets or some sort of safety protocols.

^ Well, I'll give them that, because the Genesis device is an actual piece of technology which was specifically made to do what it does. It terraforms planets because it was made for that purpose. Believe the science or not, but that alone makes it somewhat plausible.

Khan's blood, on the other hand, was totally out of left field.
I imagine people felt much the same when Spock suddenly had the powers to download an entire copy of his conciousness into Dr. McCoy.

I'll also point out that Augment healing blood ties in very neatly with what Arik Soong said about Henry Archer's death in "Cold Station 12"

Genesis was made to restore Spock to that just perfect age so Leonard Nimoy could resume playing the character after dying?

:p

Well, Spock was that age when he was exposed to the Genesis radiation. Makes sense he would age back up TO that point when revived.

It didn't really come out of nowhere, in other words?

Come out of nowhere, hell, they telegraphed it from a mile away.

Khan's amazing re-cooperative abilities must come from something:

Space Seed said:
MCCOY: He'll live.
KIRK: My compliments.
MCCOY: No, I'm good, but not that good. There's something inside this man that refuses to accept death. Look at that. Even as he is now, his heart valve action has twice the power of yours and mine. Lung efficiency is fifty percent better.
