The least disliked episode of DS9 - Season Six

This is a game that was played here a couple of years ago, and it proved to be a lot of fun, spanning across each Trek series, as well as a great way to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

I'll start by losing Profit and Lace and I hope I don't have to explain too much about this one. It's just a very bad, embarrassing effort, and clearly stands out as weak in a very strong season (possibly the best season of the show). It features some progression for the Ferengi but really, who cares? Quark in drag is a bad joke.

I didn't like Resurrection. I typically enjoy the mirror universe episodes because of the twists on the environments and the characters. But this time, it's a mirror universe episode without the mirror universe. Just an excuse to bring back the Bareil actor, with a brief appearance by mirror Kira. Kira (heck, both of them) was foolish to not see that Bareil was playing her.

Thank you, I hate that episode. Was RDM setting up Red Squad to be sympathetic? If so, I never bought it. Their deaths were satisfying.

And Jake, a writer with no military training or experience, was the only person on the whole ship with enough brains to be like "dudes, this is really stupid."

Honestly, I think the episode was supposed to showcase Nog's struggle between his own career aspirations and knowing to do the right thing. In that way it succeeded I guess, but it's just what you said. By the end of the show everybody watching is rooting for the Jem'Hadar to whoop their asses.

Statistical Probabilities, okay idea to see more genetically enhanced folks, but I couldn't stand the "Jack Pack".

An episode I always skip is Change of Heart. Yet more romance, but this time with danger. It would have been much more meaningful for Jadzia to die in this episode instead of her Tasha-like death in the finale. At least like Tasha, Dax gets a second chance at life in season 7.

The Memory Alpha article talks about the B-plot which was about a game of Tongo. :wtf: Thankfully it ends halfway through meaning the A-plot can continue unabated.

Inquisition - S31 has some strange recruiting policies. It just seemed like a Torture Bashir episode, but he's not fun like O'Brien.

"Honor Among Thieves"....exactly what qualifications does O'Brien have to work for Starfleet intelligence, and even if he has those skills, a space station mechanic is their choice for the job? Overall, it's a nice story but the premise is so flawed it's hard to look past.

It was a toss up between two episodes but it's time "Who Mourns for Morn?" to be mourned or not. Another farily stgrong season without too many missteps.

The Sound of Her Voice. It's basically an episode where all the characters get in a therapy session to talk about their problems. Then on top of all that, they're talking to someone through time who is already dead. Surprisingly the writers skipped out on continuing the dialogue once realizing they were talking to her through time. That would have been a neat idea (albeit exrtemely morbid). "Sorry, we've reached you, but you're dead and we're talking to you from the future."

Gonna have to axe the Reckoning. It's an interesting story, but a bit out there and downright silly at times. Nice character piece on how deliciously selfish(all in the act of being generous) Kai Winn is though. And it was a nice touch of the Pagh-Wraiths picking Jake as their vassal. And the Prophets utterly ignoring Winn.

I'll eliminate Tears Of The Prophets. The whole way Jadzia's death was handled was a little lazy, the way it was caused only by sheer coincidence that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and Dukat's role seemed more magical than really fits into Star Trek.
