New Doctor to be revealed on Sunday

SO FUCKING HAPPY.

Been listing him as my ideal Doctor for years and years. This is absolutely dream casting. Nothing could have made me happier.
Alexander Siddig would've sent me over the moon, but I'm happy with this. So glad they didn't go with that Rigby guy.

Oh my god.

When he first came on the stage, me and mother went "oh no". Eventually after a few moments, I came to grip with it. I'm deciding to give him a chance as the doctor. Is only as he came off the stage I saw this dark creepy look in his eyes and then I thought "okay, this could actually work in my favour, I've wanted a darker doctor for ages now".

SO I'll give him a chance, my mother is still a bit pissed off (actually after that, we realised that Garry Oldman would be a great doctor) but my father is willing to give him a chance.

But really, I'm just glad that it's not a woman (IN YOUR F'IN FACE WHOEVER WANTED A FEMALE DOCTOR!). The main problem with be Clara. I don't think she'll match Capaldi's doctor at all. She's a bit more kinetic, more akin to Smiths Doctor. I imagine Capaldi will be more along the lines of Pertwee, Hartnel, and Eccleston.

I wonder how he will play it.

I'm more curious with what direction they'll go with his costume. Both Tennant and Smith got suits, I'd rather they do something that hearkens back to the costumes of classic Who. Maybe not something too flashy, but nothing as mundane as another suit.

I don't know who that is.

Well I can say I have never heard of him. So who is he?
I only know his Whoniverse Roles:

John Frobisher in Torchwood:Children of Earth
The Dad in The Doctor Who episodeKaren Gillan was in before she became Amy Pond The Fires of Pompeiii

Apparently World War Z had this spoiled for some time now, because in it he played The WHO Doctor?

WHO in World War Z stands for World Health Organization. It's a real organization so they didn't really spoil anything.

I also only know Peter Capaldi from his Who roles. I am looking forward to seeing him as the Doctor though.

Or they could throw us for a loop and make him an extremely vital, older "mad professor" type (people called Matt Smith a mad professor but I don't think he was, really). Clara may be young but she's also mature and capable. I can forsee a great give-and-take between them.

What a strange thing to say. Do you know how really weird you sound?

An older doctor, maybe could work, it has before. A female doctor, right now at least it's too far a contrast to what we've ever had before. We're just not ready, and I'm on of the whovians who firmly hated the idea of a woman doctor.

Well, before the special I heard Peter was a favorite of the oddsmakers and I saw a clip of him as another character - someone named Malcom - who cussed up a storm and I didn't think it worked but during the special, for a brief moment, I did see what I think could be a spark of the good Doctor so we shall see.
I've liked them all and I'm sure Mr. Capaldi will grow on me. When I first saw a still of Matt Smith, I though WTF?! What have they done to the Doctor?! but he quickly grew to be one of my favorites.

Going with the Hartnell theme, something along those lines would be nice. In theory, this is a Doctor that's just come off having to deal with / face up to actions/events around his 8 1/2 self, so something more serious would be a natural reaction. Especially if we spend most of his run on the series playing up that he is supposed to be the last life fo the Doctor.

I don't mind as long as we don't get a plain clothes Doctor like 9 and 10. He should have a distinct, distinguished look.

Beyond excited. I wish Star Trek could still make me feel like this.

They could definitely milk the regeneration limit for some good drama and storytelling, with the Doctor eventually finding a way to circumvent it. Let's hope that they don't just ignore it :)
