I just finished watching the last episode of third season, which of course final for the series as well. Does anybody know, why Lt Uhara wasn't on the final episode? It would seem that all the regular cast would be on board for the final episode but that wasn't the case here...

Because if she were there, she would have handed Lester's ass to her the moment it looked like something was up. The episode would only have lasted 18 minutes then.

She was a big shot. She was/is the wife of the casting director, Joseph d'Agosta.

They absolutely knew it was the last one while filming it. In the book STAR TREK LIVES, Joan Winston recounts her week-long visit to the set of "Turnabout Intruder." She says that after the last shot was finished, workmen started tearing down the Enterprise interior sets.

Uhura is present in James Blish's novelisation of "Turnabout Intruder", and was presumably in the script version as well. Lt. Martine was evidently a last minute replacement due to Nichols unavailability.
