What format/s did you see STID in?

Commander
Red Shirt
...and which would you recommend the most?

I saw it in 2D regular theater and in 2D Omnimax. Even though the Omnimax had a few issues (harder to follow the action scenes because it's just so fricken' huge), I absolutely loved it. The exterior scenes of space and the ships were absolutely amazing.

I've seen it once, in 3D. I wanted to see it again in 2D, but they are showing the original English version only in 3D here. All the 2D versions are dubbed in German.

Twice in 3D, once in Gold Class and once in a regular cinema.

I saw the previous film at IMAX and it gave me a headache, so I didn't try that this time around.

UltraAVX 3D and 2D. The 3D was certainly amazing eye candy and was a great way to see it the first time. I appreciated the 2D version after that for allowing me to pay more attention to the story and notice a lot more things than I did in 3D. I will be seeing it one more time in the theatre and it'll be 2D again.

Regular "Real 3D" at the world premiere, then 3D in an "Xtreme" screening, then 3D at IMAX ("world's biggest IMAX screen", Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia). No preference but the intense red colours of Nibiru seemed muted in IMAX.

Tomorrow: one more time!

I saw premiere in Brasil IMAX 3D portuguese. I will see one time 2-D in june 14th in english ( I want hear Cumb voice) and several times in DVD blu ray

3D IMAX
Then 3D

Pay the extra $4 to see it in 3D. You can see it on the blu-ray and on telly in 2D as many times as you like.
I reget many years later not seeing Star Trek movies on the big screen in the best format when I could. Trust me here. Its not the same.
I just saw 'The Hobbit' on the telly and a lot of the special effects looked fake to me while at the cinema they looked exciting.

My first viewing was in traditional 2D, but I'm thinking about IMAX 3D for my second viewing. Sadly, the IMAX theater here isn't one of the "real," full-size IMAX screens.

Being blind in one eye, the effect is lost on me. Though I'll give it a view in 3D when it comes out on Blu-ray as I have a 3D TV and player. :techman:

I'm totally underwhelmed by 3D, but through circumstance (and sheer impatience) my "virgin" viewing was 3D - certainly not my first choice. Seen it several times in 2D since, which for me, is easily the superior format.
